Mike Stone Soccer Complex at Hickory Point Park

Mike Stone Soccer Complex at Hickory Point Park A 13 acre facility in beautiful Tavares offering 6 pristine soccer fields, clean restrooms, a concession stand and ample parking space.

Mike Stone, who died July 16, 2016 served with distinction on numerous boards and projects. Among his most significant accomplishments was his tireless dedication to coaching youth soccer. In 1999 he almost single-handedly built Lake County Soccer League, now known as Lake County Soccer Club, and the Hickory Point Soccer Complex to the level at which they operate today. Mike spent thousands of hou

rs coaching, maintaining the fields, refereeing and seeking donations and grants to ensure a quality program and playing fields for local youth. For the past 15 years he ran the Hickory Point Soccer Invitational which is the largest high school tournament in Florida. Mike put in countless hours seeking sponsors, making up schedules, arranging accommodations and maintaining the fields. The Lake County Soccer Club Board of Directors felt it was only fitting to rename the park in Mike's honor. This complex has six pads, five with lighting and kept at pristine conditions. The complex is owned by Lake County Water Authority and operated by Lake County Soccer Club. The Fields are used for local soccer tournaments, but can be rented for tournaments of all kinds including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football and even Ultimate Frisbee. The park can accommodate groups from a few dozen to hundreds with ample parking for everyone. A concession stand, restrooms and a picnic pavilion for families also are located on-site.

Lake County Soccer Club Families,

Effective immediately Lake County Soccer Club has made the decision to close the fields and cancel ALL scheduled activities, including competitive and developmental league practices and games through March 20th. We are monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak in Central Florida closely and will update our club members by March 20th with more information and further closures. We are working closely with our local government and heeding the warning from Lake County Emergency Management who is suggesting to cancel all non-essential gatherings at this time.

Many of you have received emails from USYS (United States Youth Soccer), FYSA (Florida Youth Soccer Association), GCF (Greater Central Florida), these are governing bodies and affiliates that we work with to provide soccer to our community. While information is coming from many different areas we ask that you look for emails directly from Lake County Soccer Club to receive accurate information regarding our specific programs. We also provide information through social media, utilizing Facebook and Instagram.

This is a difficult decision but we will always keep your child's safety and well being our highest priority. We realize that this is an uncertain time and many questions may arise. We will notify you when more information is available.
