Chaos vs. Fearless, quarterfinal victory
Chaos punched their ticket to the semifinals with a hard-fought 9-7 win over Fearless, ending Fearless' tournament run.
Chaos came out swinging in the first inning, putting up the maximum 4 runs while holding Fearless to just 3. Singles from Cali Otis, Ella Nardozzi, Casey Giles, and Mayve Pinto got the offense rolling. Saoirse Hannon drove in a run with a double before Izzy Rose added an RBI single to cap off the inning. Defensively, Cali was everywhere at the mound, making two key plays and hauling in a pop fly to help limit the damage.
Fearless answered in the second, holding Chaos scoreless while scoring 4 runs to take a 7-4 lead.
Chaos chipped away in the third when Taylin Oman blasted a triple to bring home a run. The defense answered right back, as great catches by Mayve Pinto and Cali Otis, along with a heads-up defensive play from Alice Hirschy, kept Fearless off the scoreboard.
Neither team scored in the fourth inning. Chaos' defense continued to shine with two more defensive plays by Cali Otis and another strong play by Mayve Pinto to preserve the score.
Trailing by two heading into the fifth, Chaos erupted for another 4-run inning to reclaim the lead, 9-7. Singles by Cali Otis, Ella Nardozzi, and Casey Giles set the table before Taylin Oman ripped a double to drive in two runs. Alice Hirschy, Saoirse Hannon, and Izzy Rose followed with singles to plate the final two runs of the comeback.
With a two-run lead entering the sixth, Chaos locked things down defensively. The defense held Fearless scoreless in the final frame, sealing the 9-7 victory and sending Chaos to the semifinals, while sending fearless home✌🏼💜🩵🥎
