As children swing, reach, and move across the bars, they're building important developmental skills, including:

✨ Upper body strength
✨ Grip strength
✨ Coordination
✨ Motor planning
✨ Bilateral coordination (using both sides of the body together)
✨ Confidence and perseverance

Monkey bars also encourage children to challenge themselves, problem-solve, and celebrate their accomplishments one bar at a time! 🙌

When children swing, spin, climb, jump, or zip through the gym, they're doing much more than just having fun!

These activities provide vestibular input, which helps support the body's sense of movement, balance, and spatial awareness. The vestibular system plays an important role in everyday skills such as coordination, attention, posture, and self-regulation.

That's why many of the activities and equipment found at We Rock the Spectrum are designed to encourage purposeful movement while making play engaging and enjoyable.

Every child processes sensory input differently, but opportunities for movement and exploration can help support healthy development, confidence, and learning through play. 💙

Hey We Rockers! Let's all welcome our new owner LaTrice to the We Rock Family! 🎉

Hello everyone! My name is LaTrice, and I'm excited to be joining this incredible community of franchise owners. I'm originally from Los Angeles, California, but Maryland has been home for many years now. By profession, I'm a lawyer, but my most important role is being a mom to my two amazing children Lena, 15, and Andrew ("Drew"), 12. Drew is autistic and non-verbal, and our family's journey is what ultimately led us to We Rock the Spectrum. We first discovered WRTS while searching for a place where Drew could play, feel comfortable, and truly be himself. The welcoming environment and inclusive mission immediately resonated with us. We even celebrated one of Drew's birthdays at a WRTS location, and from that moment, it became a dream of mine to bring that same experience to our community. Currently, the nearest WRTS is about 40 minutes away, and I saw firsthand the need for a space closer to home where children of all abilities and their families could connect, play, and feel supported. I'm thrilled to be opening a WRTS location in Columbia, Maryland and hope it becomes more than just a play space, but a true community gathering place that provides resources, support, and a sense of belonging for families throughout our area. I look forward to learning from all of you and being part of this amazing network!

Hey We Rockers! Let's all welcome our new owners Jenny & Masi to the We Rock Family! 🎉

We are so excited to open the first We Rock the Spectrum in Maine!! We can't wait to bring an inclusive and sensory rich space, where children of all abilities- and their families can play and grow together. We are a proudly intercultural and in*******al family raising two young kiddos. Inclusion, acceptance, and celebration of unique identities is something close to our hearts. We met in undergrad, where Masi was an international student coming from South Africa. Our lived experience of blending culture and identity and our strong belief in community and connection fuels everything we do.

Jenny brings 11 years of practice as an OT in both school based and outpatient settings and 20 years of passion for dance, yoga and expressive arts. She has has a gift for creating spaces and opportunities for all ages to build a deeper connection with their own body and mind. Masi holds a Phd in organizational culture and change. Over his 10 year career he has helped higher education institutions, for profit businesses, non profit organizations, and city government create, maintain, and improve policies and programs to be more inclusive.

We are ready and excited to bring We Rock to Maine! We are passionate about building a gym that fills the gaps and meets the needs of our community. We hope it will be a place where families feel supported and find joy through purposeful play for all ages! ~Jenny and Masi

🎉 The wait is almost over, Clovis! 🎉

After months of planning, building, preparing, and dreaming, We Rock the Spectrum – Clovis is ready to open its doors! 💙

Join us on Saturday, June 27th from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM for their Grand Opening Celebration and help welcome an incredible new resource to the Clovis community.

Owners Chris and Roseberry have worked tirelessly to bring We Rock the Spectrum's mission to life, a place where children of ALL abilities can play, grow, explore, and thrive together in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

We are so excited to celebrate this milestone with them and can't wait to see the positive impact they'll make for local families for years to come.

This unique swing provides calming vestibular input while helping support balance, coordination, body awareness, and sensory regulation. Many children find the gentle swinging motion both soothing and fun, making it a favorite during Open Play.
