Well, guys, we knew this day was coming. Tarpon Springs regretfully announces the retirement of our good old Hurricane 211. Although I am currently having separation issues, I am excited to also inform you all that rack Alpha 5 here at the Port of Tarpon Marina will not be empty for long!

Sophie Outhwaite is managing our Tarpon Springs location. Sophie is no stranger to the transportation industry, having obtained her aircraft mechanics license in 1998. Working on luxury business jet aircraft for Gulfstream Aerospace and Net Jets Europe, Sophie’s roles included crew member, Interior Manager, Training Specialist, and Compliance Training Lead. Sophie has turned wrenches on Gulfstream, Falcon, Cessna, Piper, and Boeing 737 aircraft. Sophie also received her certification as an accident investigator from the National Transportation Safety Board and performed collateral duty as primary Internal Accident/Incident Investigator. Having enjoyed boating for many years, she comes to us from Largo Intercoastal Marina. Sophie is as enthusiastic about boating as she is flying and is dedicated to providing our members a first class experience!

If you've launched out of Tarpon Springs on the weekend, you've been lucky enough to meet our fabulous Dale Hooper. Dale comes to us with over 50 years of personal and professional boating experience. As a child, Dale began building power and sail boats by his father's side and continued with his passion after school. He worked for the largest boat dealer in Cleveland, Ohio and has trained many boaters on boat handling. As well as owning several boats himself, Dale started his own rep business in the industry and traveled to multiple states selling boats and motors to dealers and builders. Dale is not a stranger to the boat club facet of the business, having started his own in Sandusky, Ohio which still thrives with over 600 members today. We are so lucky to have his skill, knowledge, and fantastic attitude! "I love working for Carefree in Tarpon and our members are awesome!"
