One of the Tampa YMCA's Strategic Plans is to Advance Leadership Development. Our two senior guards are taking the next step from their time here at the New Tampa Family YMCA.

Flynn will be the new Pool Manager at our South Tampa Family YMCA. He has led the New Tampa pool over the last two years with training and onboarding all our new guards.

Jesika will be the new Pool Manager at our East Pasco Family YMCA. She has led our swim instructors in group and private lessons. She has the natural talent to teach our children at their own level.

Please congratulate these two on their new roles and we know they are going to do wonderful things.

We’re so proud of our Tampa Y Swimming Masters (TYSM) team for their amazing effort at the 2026 YMCA National Masters Meet back in April! The team secured an impressive 11th place finish with 457 points.

Special shoutout to Christina Campfort, Chrstina Thompson, Emily Dammer, and Sharon Taylor for taking home 1st place in the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay (ages 35-44)! Way to go, TYSM!

🏊‍♂️ Pool Closure Notice: Swim Meet Weekend 🏊‍♀️

Attention New Tampa YMCA members, please be aware of upcoming pool closures due to our Long Course Swim Meet:

Friday, May 29
• Short Course: 5:30am-2:00pm
• Pool closed for lane change: 2:00-2:30pm
• Long Course: 2:30-7:30pm
During this time, the pool will only be open to swim lesson participants.

Saturday, May 30
The pool will be closed to members from 7:00am-3:00pm, due to the long course swim meet and will reopen once the meet concludes for the day.

Sunday, May 31
The pool will be closed to members from 7:00am-1:00pm, due to the long course swim meet and will reopen once the meet concludes for the day.

The pool will remain in long course format on May 30 and May 31.

Join us at the New Tampa Family YMCA for the Senior Life Health and Wellness Expo!

Senior Life Publications is hosting a free community event at the New Tampa Family YMCA on Monday, May 18 from 11am -2pm, and you won’t want to miss it!

Enjoy live music, door prizes, free health assessments, vendor tables, and lunch provided. The event will also feature a special Tribute to “The Rat Pack” by award-winning vocalist Steve Roman, along with a Senior Scam Prevention Q&A featuring a guest speaker, Master Deputy Jeffrey E. Merry Jr, from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

This event is free and open to all, so bring a friend and join us for an afternoon of music, helpful resources, and community connection.
