Tampa Bay Affiliate Cup
Goal: to create a stronger, healthier functional fitness community in Tampa Bay through friendly competition amongst affiliates in Tampa Bay. Where: Location will change every event
When: Second and Forth Friday of each month at 7:30 PM starting on Oct 9th. Format: 4 affiliates invited to participate. 6 athletes from each affiliate (at least 2 females or 2 males from each
affiliate). Sample structure: athletes from each team will be seeded 1 to 6. Athlete 1 from affiliate 1 will face off against the other 1 seeds from the other affiliates. And so on.... The winner of the heat will receive 1 point, 2nd place 2 points... The lowest total score after all heats (12 total) will be deemed the winner of the affiliate cup. The workouts will be standard CrossFit-style workouts and a cross between Rx and Sx. There will be male and female standards. Seeding: Seeding will be based on a combination of CrossFit Open scores, local competition results, conversations amongst the affiliates participating and knowledge of the athletes. For example: the 1 seeds are determined from each affiliate. They face off against each other. Heat 1: #1 seeds - Affiliate 1, Affiliate 2, Affiliate 3 and Affiliate 4
Heat 2: #2 seeds - Affiliate 1, Affiliate 2, Affiliate 3 and Affiliate 4
And so on for six heats. A male and female can and most likely will compete against each other. Appropriate weight scales will be used. Seeding will not be based on gender but rather ability based on past results (using system noted above - see seeding). Scaling workouts might happen during later seeds depending on the athletes and discussions amongst the affiliate managers. Rules: the participants must be active members at the affiliate, full time coaches and/or owners of the affiliate that actively train at that affiliate. At least 2 females or 2 males will be expected to participate. For example, a team can consist of 3 men and 3 women or 4 men and 2 women. Same for the reverse, a team can consist of 4 women and 2 men. Cost: $30/person or $180/affiliate. Affiliate Cup Winner: each event will result in one winner. The winner will receive the Affiliate Cup to hold until the next event and $300 cash prize. The winner will automatically be entered in to the next event and is expected to pay their registration again and defend their cup against other affiliates. There will be no limit to the number of times an affiliate may win. If an affiliate doesn't show up for the defense of their title or declines to defend their title, they are expected to return the cup to All Out Athletics asap. Expectations: we have a core philosophy at All Out Athletics - our athletes will Have Fun and Get Fit in a High Energy and Safe environment. We will uphold this standard for these events. Foul language will not be tolerated. Arguments with volunteers will not be tolerated. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times no matter the outcome. Remember the goal is to build a stronger community. We will not tolerate any activity or actions that take away from this.
