Early Outlook:
Winter Haven - returns a loaded roster and will be a favorite to make it to Lakeland for the final four this year. A team with athleticism, length and skill at each position, the Lady Blue Devils will be hungry for another state title!
Durant 12-12 - experienced a rebuilding season after graduating three key players from the previous season to the Hillsborough Community College Lady Hawks Basketball team. The Lady Cougars return 2nd Team All Western Conference Federal Division Elani Randall and 2nd Team All Western Conference Federal Division Mikaiah Hallback. With experience and scoring at guard the Cougars can battle for a top 2 seed in their district.
Class 7A Region 3 District 11
Teams
1. Alonso (6-17)
2. Lennard (6-14)
3. Palm Harbor University (16-8)
4. Plant (15-12)
5. Riverview (12-13)
6. Sumner (21-6)
Early Outlook
Sumner - returns starting PG c/o 2025 Briana Gill-Guyette, F c/o 2025 Mikayla Berry (Injured) and G c/o 2026 Mariah Farmer from a team that won the 7a District 11 championship and finished the season 21-6. Coach Marika Starks coming off winning her first district championship and the only district championship in Sumner Girls basketball history has shown the ability to develop talent. Sumner has the talent to win a district championship in their new district but it will not be an easy road.
Plant - finished the 15 -12 last season and will return electric c/o 2025 G 2nd Team All Western Conference American Division Azzariah Styles. Styles is arguably one of the best guards in the county with speed, power and control. c/o 2026 C Sanae Graham will be a physical presence underneath on both ends and the 1,2 punch will be among the best in the County. Plant has the talent to win their district title and return to the playoffs.
