Fabian won the Pans this year and will leave Thursday for Vegas to compete in Master 3 Blue light weight at the Master Worlds Saturday. Today we drilled and worked the game plan plus some rolling some rounds today. He has 46 in his division, which will make it far from an easy day at one of the highest levels of competition. Let's Go Fabian!!

Hélio Gracie is more than just a name in Jiu Jitsu; he transformed the sport and elevated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into a global sensation. His teachings and techniques continue to influence elite grappling teams worldwide, leaving an extraordinary legacy.

Born on October 1, 1913, Hélio was the smallest and weakest in his family, yet he turned his challenges into remarkable strengths. He adapted traditional Jiu Jitsu to empower individuals of all sizes and strengths, demonstrating that skillful technique can triumph over brute force.

A fearless ambassador of the Gentle Art, Hélio boldly issued challenges through newspaper ads, inviting practitioners from other martial arts to test their skills against his Jiu Jitsu. These public challenges not only garnered attention but also showcased the effectiveness of Jiu Jitsu against other fighting styles.

At just 18, Hélio made his mark by winning his first no-holds-barred fight in under a minute, a testament to the efficacy of his style and a pivotal moment that changed martial arts forever.

In 1950, Hélio played a key role in launching the first Rio de Janeiro State Jiu Jitsu Championship, establishing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu's reputation and respect within the martial arts community. This event highlighted the effectiveness of his techniques and set a new standard in the sport.
