Hi families,
As Milestones Running Club approaches its four-year mark, I have bittersweet news. My family is relocating several hours away, so I will be discontinuing our local kids run club. Our current season will be the final season with me. If you'd like to register your child for this season, please do so today, so they can attend tomorrow morning at 9am.
Typing that is harder than I expected. (Who am I kidding, I’ve cried three times before typing this email.) Over these years I’ve watched shy first classes turn into confident strides, “I can’t” turn into “I’m determined!,” and kids of all ages encourage each other as they learn to encourage themselves. Your kids have made me laugh, cheer, and tear up more than once. Coaching them has been a gift, truly. There have been times I thought I maybe cared a little too much, but I have wanted nothing more than to make a difference. I've become a better coach each season, thanks to you and your kids. Most of my runners have finished seasons learning more about running, but I hope many have also learned how to believe in themselves, set goals and standards, and treat themselves with kindness and respect, as they do others.
YOU’RE INVITED
This season’s last class is October 4, which also happens to be my birthday. If you or your kiddo would like to come say goodbye to me or friends they’ve made at run club, stop by anytime between 10am - 11:30am at Gadsden Park. Stay tuned about which area of the park we’ll be in; Gadsden looks to be fixing the green space near the pavilions, so we could be there. I will bring some fruit, pretzels, and other snacks.
If your child is a member this current season, please arrive by 11am, though you’re also welcome to stay with your child until 11:30am.
RSVP, please! If you’re able to come, please shoot me a quick text or email: (813) 766-7667, [email protected] 🙂
MILESTONE’S FUTURE IN TAMPA
After my family moves and settles into our new home, I would love to find the right coach to pick up the baton and keep running in Tampa. If you think you might be interested in coaching, please reach out. I truly believe in how and what this program teaches, and would love for it to continue without my physical presence.
Thank you for trusting me with your runners and helping me build this community. Please stay subscribed to stay in touch or hear about possible future virtual challenges and the continuation of run club in Tampa. I’d love to cheer your kids on from afar. In the meantime, I hope to see you October 4th at Gadsden Park to celebrate nearly four great years, my birthday, and say see ya later!
Sincerely,
Coach Melissa
