My beloved boy, Jordan Goodwin will be honored on the mountain at this year's Top of Tamarack event. A young man who was loved and admired by so many friends, coaches, teachers, and family members - Jordie is still a bright light in our community.
Through his legacy, several programs were implemented at St. Luke’s Healthcare Systems through a large grant-funded award, which helped to develop more programs for su***de and mental health assistance in our community.
I truly appreciate the love and attention Top of Tamarack brings to our community, and the support that so many families and friends receive every year at this event.
It's beautiful..... Although we would much rather have our loved ones here with us every day - this extremely unique gathering brings a peacefulness to the mountain and into our hearts - as we come together with some of the same wounds, similar sorrows and struggles.
We come together not as strangers, but with the ability to recognize those deep scars and shared compassion.... we also get to put our arms around so many people that have endured this heartbreak, and many who are climbing their own mental health mountains.
This day allows for each of us to spread loads of love in our hugs, in our tears, in our smiles and the stories we share -- it's just a whole lotta love in action! What a beautiful thing!
This may be a huge one day event every September, but the memories and collective energy created, certainly lasts well beyond a single fall excursion. Top of Tamarack leaves an impact that carries great comfort and fellowship for a life-time.
