The Corazón Dancers are a non-profit Latin dance student organization from The Florida State University. Established in 2001 by four passionate Salsa Dancers, our goal is to provide the Tallahassee community with the knowledge of Los Angeles (LA) Style Salsa. We have taught over 2,500 individuals and are continuing our efforts to bring one of the many arts that the Latin community possesses to Tal
lahassee. Our primary service is our dance lessons, which we provide on the FSU campus during the fall and spring semesters for those students and non-students that wish to strengthen their knowledge of salsa dancing and music. Along with our lessons, we have had many performances throughout the years, not only in Tallahassee, but across the United States. We have performed at several of Florida State University’s events including FSU’s Homecoming Pow Wow in 2003, 2004, 2010, and 2011. We have performed and taught workshops at various FSU events, such as FSU Fusion 2006 and Global Gathering 2006 and 2008. We participated in Latin Nights at the Tallahassee Senior Citizen’s Center. We have performed and participated in FSU’s Dance Marathon 2005-2008. FSU’s Dance Marathon is the University's largest student-run Philanthropy. Every spring, hundreds of FSU students pledge to remain standing for 32 consecutive hours to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network at Shand's Hospital and the FSU College of Medicine's Pediatric Outreach Program. We have also had the privilege to perform and attend the 2004 Los Angeles West Coast Salsa Congress, the 2005 International Miami Salsa Congress, the 2006 International Miami Salsa Congress, the 2007 Los Angeles West Coast Salsa Congress, the 2008 Puerto Rico Salsa Congress, the 2010 Los Angeles Salsa Congress, the 2011 Orlando Salsa Congress, the 2013 Tallahassee Latin Dance Festival, the 2013 Las Vegas Salsa Congress, the 2014 Tallahassee Latin Dance Festival, the 2014 Unity Dance Festival, the 2014 Orlando Salsa Congress, the 2014 Miami Salsa Congress, the 2014 Boston Salsa Festival, the 2015 Latin Dance Festival, and more. We love to dance, and we hope to inspire that same passion in others. Thank you for your support!
