Thankfully, the majority of the river basin has missed out on a lot rain that was forecasted this week.
Water levels have been slowly improving each day, and we finally are back to near perfect water levels! (Currently 4.37 feet on the Chewey gauge)

We are expecting some rain tonight, hopefully, we don’t get too much rain in the wrong areas. If the heavy rain dodges the river basin tonight, the river should be in nearly perfect shape tomorrow.

We got hammered with rain last night but luckily the heavy rain was isolated and the upper sections of the river basin didn’t receive much rain.

Chewey didn’t have a huge rise but Moodys came up nearly 2 feet. The water crest at 8.02 feet early this morning at Moodys and has already dropped back down to 6.92 ft, and is continuing to steadily drop.

Chewey gauge is just now dropping back below 5 ft.

🤞 for no heavy rain tonight, and a good weekend of floating!

River update:
The river crest at just over 11 feet at Chewey, and has already dropped back down to 5.8 feet. The gauge at Combs bridge is currently back down to 7.37 feet and steadily dropping.
We kayaked from just below Chewey bridge back to our landing this morning to check for any new downed trees or strainers. Overall the entire stretch is in good shape and no new strainers have showed up yet after the flooding. The water was starting to clear up around Chewey, but water clarity quickly declined the further I got down stream. The water will be stained, but water clarity will continue to improve over the next couple days (without too much additional rainfall).
We are hoping to be open tomorrow with no restrictions!

Crazy difference in less than 8 hours!

Most of the river basin missed out on all heavy rains over the weekend but got hammered with rain this morning causing the river to flood.
We will not be open tomorrow, and will give an update tomorrow afternoon on river conditions.

It was a great day out here on the river!
Water levels are now at 3.7 ft at Chewey Bridge.

It’s hard to believe, but it’s looking like we are actually going to have a Memorial Day with perfect weather and water levels!
