Both our 14U teams are playing today! One at 10:30 and one at noon!

Every tournament we pick a player to be the player of the tournament. This weekend at The Spooker in Bentonville AR the MVP For the 14U team is Miss Nevaeh! She reached based every at bat and made several game saving catches in the outfield.

On the way home I was thinking about this kiddo. She’s one of those players that just showed up one day out of the blue to a tryout and never left, and we are SO grateful for that. When she first came to us, she seemed so shy(I think she has geown out of that) and she made me nervous as can be when it came to catching a ball in the outfield. To this day, she still makes me nervous, but then I realize, she’ll get it.

Nevaeh, we are proud of you. Keep working toward your goals kiddo!

Miss Kloee got her first ever over the fence Homerun in Bentonville this past weekend. The game before she had one about 1 foot short. Then loaded up the next game and got it done. We have been saying since April we have 3 girls on the team that it could have the first over the fence in a game! She was it!

Kloee also led the team this weekend in Batting average and was at the top of the list for fielding %. All in all, she earned our player of the tournament recognition for the weekend! Great job Kloee! And keep it going. From here it only goes up!

14U is playing out in Tulsa this weekend! 2 and 2 on the day today. We had some good team bonding games that just popped up out of nowhere. Bat nose balancing, Simon says, limbo, and lunch. It was a good day for the girls and we go play tomorrow for bracket Sunday!

Player of the weekend for DFP 14U is Tavery Martin! T played lights out all day behind the plate. She never gets rattled back there and will do everything in her power to bring a sense of calm among her teammates. Leaving the tournament with a .700 batting average isn’t to shabby either. Good job T and keep working!

We decided taking the long way to the championship was the way to go today, so that’s what we did! First 14U tournament for this team and we walked away with a second place finish. We will build off this and hopefully bring home more hardware soon! Proud of these girls!
