Years spent training, living with, and learning from our own dogs shaped the foundation for how we work today.

That experience later expanded into our dog performance team, The Marvelous Mutts, where focus, communication, and training matters a lot.

Over time, those experiences helped shape our approach to training and care:
thoughtful observation, consistency, structure, and understanding the individual dog in front of you.

A play bow is one of the clearest ways dogs communicate friendly intentions with each other.

It’s how they say:
“I’m playing.”
“This is still fun.”
“Want to keep going?”

Good social dogs use communication like this constantly during play.
They pause.
Reset.
Re-engage.

And these little moments tell us a lot about how comfortable and appropriate the interaction is between the dogs.
