Last weekend Alien HoopStarz had our 15u Co-Ed team playing in the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Memorial Day Basketball Tournament. We took 7th place out of 10 teams. These athletes battled against really hard teams. Each of these athletes showcased the talent they have. They all played amazing and did a great job. We appreciate each of you for playing with us in this tournament. We can't wait for the next one. Thank you to all the parents, guardians, and fans for all your support.

We had our mascot present for the tournament and it's always amazing to see the love we get from all the kids and fans. We want to thank all 3 of the kids who put on our mascot to help keep it on the sidelines at the games. Our normal person Kailee Reynolds who does our mascot was unavailable this tournament as she was on her senior trip. One of the kids who did it during the 8u games was Coach Shawn's daughter Cheyenne Reynolds who was also playing on the 15u team. Thank you to Cheyenne, Olivia, and Dylan for helping us be the the mascot. We greatly appreciate you.

We want to thank Andrea Moses-Paul for helping us coach our 1st 15u game. Coach Shawn M Reynolds, Jr. Had the 8u championship game at the same time as the 1st game for the 15u. He had to run back and forth between the 2 games at the same time on courts next to each other. He asked for Andrea to help coach who is a former player and the mother of one of our amazing athletes. Her and her husband Mario are always a big help for our team at each tournament. They always help make sure we have snacks and other things we need for the athletes.

We want to thank the Muckleshoot Tribe, the Muckleshoot Veteran's, and everyone else for all your hard work to put this tournament on and for honoring the veterans. The swag bags and free food all weekend was amazing and is greatly appreciated.

This was Alien HoopStarz 1st ever 8u team. These kids battled hard all tournament. We have a great mix of players. We have players on this team that are new to basketball, skilled players, and 2 players with severe Autism. This amazing group of kids won the championship 🏆.

It wasn't an easy battle. We lost our 1st game by 3 points to a team from Neah Bay Washington. We then had to go through the back door to reach the championship round. We faced the same team in the championship round that beat us in the 1st game. The championship game was a hard battle against a really good team. We stayed even going back and forth with points then got the lead. Once we got the lead we kept it til the end of the game.

Coach Shawn M Reynolds, Jr. Ended up having the 8u championship game and the first game for 15u at the same time. He was running back and forth between the 2 games that were 1 court away from each other. He spent most of that time at the championship game. He asked one of the parents Jeffrey White to help out in the 8u championship game while he ran back and forth betwee the 2 games . We want to say thank you for helping Coach Shawn and the Alien Hoopstarz out this weekend.

Thank you to the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Muckleshoot Veteran's Department, and all the staff for this amazing tournament. They gave all the players swag bags full of good stuff, free food and drinks from food trucks all weekend for players, coaches, and parents. We will be back next year. The next post will be about the 15u team. Huge should out to all the 8u teams this weekend y'all did amazing.

We want to give a huge shout out to one of our athletes Jesselle who also plays flag football. Her team and her are undefeated at 10-0 on the season so far. She is an amazing all around athlete in many sports. She has put in hard work to prefect her athletic skills. She has a championship mind set. We can't wait to see all the amazing places you go in sports. We look forward to having you back for future games. Congratulations on winning the sportsmanship award. Alien HoopStarz and Coach Shawn M Reynolds, Jr. are big advocates for the success of our athletes. We love success on the court but its even more important off the court. We want to highlight each of the kids who wear an Alien HoopStarz jersey.

Karmen plays for Alien Hoopstarz in our highschool division. This will be her 2nd year with us. She plays on her highschool basketball team. Her school basketball team has made it to the district playoffs and they are trying for a chance to make it to state. During the season she worked hard on rebuilding her confidence. By the end of the season she was taking more shots, rebounding and assists that helped her team.

Karmen has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is the current 2025-2026 Miss Skopabsh Princess for the Muckleshoot Tribe. Karmen is an extremely busy person and she has done an amazing job with all that she does. She has mastered a balance with her academics and athletics. We are proud of her. We currently have 2 of our athletes who hold Native American Powwow royalty titles.

Karmen's amazing parents said "We are so thankful for the opportunity the Alien Hoopstarz will give her and her best friend to continue building thier confidence and skills while playing for them. Let's go Alien Hoopstarz 👽 👽 👽"

Thank you to Karmen's parents Andrea and Mario for allowing Karmen to play for us.

If your athlete has ever played for us please send us a story and pictures of thier success. It can be championship pictures, school team pictures, academics, and anything else. We would love to post about them.

On December 21, 1891 James Naismith created the game of basketball. He did this a way to help athletes stay in shape who played football, baseball, and ran track stay in shape. He made it an indoor sport due to winter weather. He used peach baskets, used a soccer ball, and had 13 original rules. One fun fact is there was no dribbling in this game when it was created. You could only pass the ball from one spot to the other. We are greatful to him for creating the game of basketball. We are greatful to Shawn M Reynolds, Jr. For his love of basketball and creating Alien HoopStarz. 👽🏀

We have so many amazing things to say about the youth who play for Alien HoopStarz. This group of youth played hard this weekend at the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe for the 2025 Salmon Jam basketball tournament. We didn't make it to the championship round but each of these youth athletes are incredible at what they can do on the court.

Our Mascot was present and making kids excited and taking pictures with them. These are core memories they will cherish for a lifetime. At the end of the day it's not about if the score board says a win or loss. It's about the wins in growth and confidence for each athlete that is our championship. Each athlete who puts on an Alien HoopStarz jersey becomes apart of the family. Coach Shawn M Reynolds, Jr. Started Alien HoopStarz with a vision to help push the youth athletes to be successful on and off the court.
