About Us

Welcome to American Gymnastics Academy Northwest, where gymnastics is FUN! We are proud to provide gymnastics classes, competitive teams, birthday parties, and seasonal camps. Our brand new Tacoma facility is filled with top of the line equipment for both mini-gymnasts, and high level athletes.

AGA Northwest is designed for children to explore the sport of gymnastics, as well as provide the opportunity for them to compete. The skills learned at AGA Northwest are the perfect foundation for all other activities. We are a club who values positivity, safety, and excellence. Whether gymnastics is a recreational activity or it’s an Olympic dream, AGA Northwest provides the perfect foundation for all it’s students.

American Gymnastics Academy was founded by Carol and Shane McIntyre in Long Beach, California in 1989. The couple transformed their community by providing a fantastic gymnastics education for it’s students for 30 years. Their daughter Nicole was so inspired by their leadership, that she is opening AGA Northwest in Tacoma, Washington. As a former high level gymnast, coach, and manager, Nicole brings a great deal of experience to the business. Her mission is the same, the location is different.

For the past 30 years, the McIntyre’s have had great success. The AGA athletes have earned State Champion titles, Regional Champion titles, and National Champion titles. Many of their athletes have also received full-athletic scholarships to Division 1 Universities.
