Unleashed at Stadium Bowl

Unleashed at Stadium Bowl Participants race the stairs of the iconic Stadium Bowl to raise money for Kindred Souls Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization. We finish.

Tacoma is Grit City. Grit means, ‘indomitable spirit, strength of character, unyielding courage in the face of danger or hardship’. Grit must be earned through effort. SHARED STRUGGLE:
Unleashed at Stadium Bowl is a challenge for all participants regardless of age, gender, build, etc. On the stairs we are one. KINDRED CONNECTION:
We are a group of diverse individuals who are choo

sing to challenge ourselves to do our best in what feels like an impossible feat. We don’t quit on each other or ourselves. And when we cross the finish line and high-five each other we are the same in that moment. WHAT IS UNLEASHED? Participants will run the stairs in a competitive timed event or walk (untimed). The race will cover the entire Stadium Bowl, ‘weaving the stairs’ by running up one staircase, and down the other. Total steps climbed 814, total descended 814 for a grand total of 1,628 steps. All spectators will stay on the field. There is no entry fee for spectators, so come watch and cheer on the racers! WHY? To raise money for the rescue animals of Kindred Souls Foundation. Kindred Souls Foundation provides sanctuary to abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats, a holistic approach to their care, and education on the rewards and responsibilities of animal companionship. WHO? Anyone 8 years or older. WHEN? Sunday, August 7th, 2022

Every year we have Community Partner organizations volunteer alongside our Kindred Souls Foundation volunteers. This year we had three wonderfully helpful teams tie for Largest Community Partner: Wolf Haven International, Bodhi Construction & Consulting Services, University of Puget Sound (Physical Therapy).

In addition to the volunteers on the field, many of our Community Partner organizations had members racing and/or sponsored the race! Thank you to Summit Veterinary Referral Center and Crystal Judson Family Justice Center for your continued participation. We are honored to have all of these community organizations supporting Kindred Souls Foundation by making Unleashed at Stadium Bowl so successful!

A huge THANK YOU to all 75 of our Unleashed at Stadium Bowl volunteers! We are beyond grateful to every one of you ❤

Alongside our Kindred Souls Foundation volunteers, we had new and returning individuals and the following community partner organizations: Wolf Haven International, University of Puget Sound, Bodhi Construction & Consulting Services, Summit Veterinary Referral Center, and Crystal Judson Family Justice Center!

Our deep gratitude to the medical professionals from Pierce County Medical Reserve Corps and WAARNG who donated their time and skills. Their presence and responsiveness ensured that everyone could go 'all-in' while tackling this difficult and exhausting race!
