Purpose - Praxis - Pursuit

At Seven Swords Academy we study, reconstruct, and practice the Art and Science of the Martial Art and Medieval Combat handed down to us from the 14th-15th Centuries. Our primary sources are the manuals and treatises written and illustrated through the auspices of historical masters of the art, such as Fiore de Liberi and the students of the Johannes Liechtenauer tradit

ion. Our focus is predominately on the unarmed and armed system of these Martial Arts developed through the late Middle-Ages in Europe, before the introduction of gunpowder to the field of battle. Our practice concentrates primarily on the unarmored self-defense applications of Longsword, Grappling and Dagger (and Knife), Short Staff and Cutting Spear, Stick and Cane, with secondary focuses on Sword and Buckler, and Messer, and use of historical training weapons such as Wasters, Dussack and Single-Stick. Hello everyone over the last year we have had students leave their swords and gear at the school and have not been back in several months to more than a year. Most of them long enough we no longer remember who they belong to. If you have left your gear/sword here please reach out to us if you intend on coming back or want to come collect your stuff. Since much of these items have been here for a very long time (again some more than a year) anything not claimed within 30 days will be added to the schools loaner gear.
