May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This awareness month was established in the United States in 1949 to help increase awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations around mental health. More than 75 years later, that conversation is more important than ever.
Mental health can look different for everyone. Some days you feel strong. Some days self-doubt gets loud. Some days just showing up is enough.
Movement won’t solve everything, but there’s something powerful about connecting with your body, your breath, and your focus. Taking time to move with intention, challenge yourself, and be around other people can matter more than we sometimes realize.
Thank you for being part of our movement community and for continuing to show up for yourself in whatever way feels right for you.
We also wanted to share a local resource doing important work in our community: NAMI provides free support groups, education, advocacy, and mental health resources for individuals and families across Pierce County.
