Made it to Bellingham! I got bumped to a suite at the hotel and I only paid 40% of the regular rate for a standard. I'm stoked for the regatta this weekend! Wishing good luck to my teammates on SV Tigger at the 3 Buoy Fiasco tomorrow!

I'm heading up to Bellingham this weekend for the Pacific Coast Championships to get a closer look at some boats and say hi. Looking forward to seeing some 505s in action!

I picked up this 505 on a trade over a year ago. I haven't made any progress in getting it rigged or ready for the water since I got it. The joke is I named it Dust because it's been sitting in the garage so long collecting dust.
The truth is I named it Dust to remind me that we all come from dust and return to it, it's the joy we create in between that matters. This project is going to bring a lot of joy to my life. I love sailing and I love learning. Putting the boat together before I start sailing it is going to give me a better understanding of the systems, make me more resourceful and hopefully make me a better sailor.

I've already started to get some good advice from some locals with 505 experience. I'm planning to go up to the Pacific Coast Championships in Bellingham and take a look at some of the more modern set ups in person and chat it up with some people who are excited about sailing. Here's to the beginning of an adventure!

Here is a thread on Sailing Anarchy I started. I've already had a lot of responses. I've joined a couple local 505 google groups that have been helpful as well.
