Odd-Aage Bersvendsen
Odd-Aage Bersvendsen was born in Harstad, Norway, and started skiing at two years old. Odd began racing at age 6, and went on to compete in the Norwegian Junior Nationals, Army, and ski orienteering competitions. He’s competed in four Norwegian Birkebeinerrenn, 10 World Loppets, numerous World Masters events, and the American Birkebeiner. Odd is one of the founders and primary coaches for Colorado Nordic Masters in Grand County, CO, and lives in Fraser with his wife, Sally Brassill. When not coaching, Odd can be found adventuring on his backcountry skis, bike or orienteering. His previous endeavors focused on mechanical engineering and as a corporate in defense, automotive and medical industries. Sally Brassil
Growing up in North Conway, New Hampshire, Sally started her ski career early: alpine skiing at age three and Nordic at age 7. She began alpine racing in high school, and later switched to teleracing. Her love for Nordic resumed in 1993 when she started working at a Nordic center in the east, eventually obtaining her Level 3 PSIA, and becoming the ski school director. Traveling and racing has been a passion over the years, including a few World Masters, and a dozen World Loppets, as well as many shorter races. Sally and her husband Odd now live in Fraser, CO. She looks forward to continuing to share her love and knowledge of skiing with all, while supporting Colorado Nordic Masters and the Winter Park Nordic Competition Center. Ed Kimm
In his own words, Ed Kimm is long time ski enthusiast who enjoys helping people of all ages improve their skiing and ski fitness. A retired surgeon, a certified Level 1 Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), and a certified Level One USSS Nordic Coach, Ed’s experience includes coaching masters-level skiers in Steamboat Springs, CO, and youth athletes at the Winter Park Nordic Competition Center. He’s competed in such popular events as the American Birkebeiner, the Mora Vasaloppet, the Boulder Mountain Tour, the Big Shooter Bonk and the Leadville Ski 100. Chris Morley
Chris has been an avid skier since he was five years old. In the mid 90s, he focused primarily on Nordic skiing and has competed in many American Birkebeiners and other races around the Midwest. Chris was fortunate to be part of a training group that included many elite skiers and a number of US Olympic and World Cup skiers. What he learned from that group is that each work out session or clinic should have a purpose, be well planned, and structured. He also believes that by focusing on and improving ski technique, the result is a faster, stronger and more efficient skier. Chris’s Nordic coaching experience includes coaching his daughter’s high school team, the middle school group of the City of Lakes Loppet Foundation in Minneapolis, and serving as a volunteer coach for Middle Park High School here in Grand County. Chris previously held a Level 2 PSIA Alpine teaching certificate, and taught alpine skiing at his home resort in Minnesota and in the Winter Park ski school. Jeff Russell
A passion for Nordic skiing was kindled in Jeff in 1976, and that flame has never gone out. He started teaching in 1985 in Vermont, got full certification in Nordic and Nordic Downhill instruction by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) while teaching at Eldora Ski area in Nederland, CO, is a certified Level 100 USSS Nordic Coach for the Winter Park Competition Center, and is a volunteer coach for the Middle Park High School. He enjoys balancing time between all disciplines of Nordic skiing, classic and skate, as well as freeheel skiing in the backcountry. But most of all, he loves to share his enthusiasm for the sport of cross-country skiing.
