There’s something so special about starting a new season and knowing there are so many little moments ahead that we haven’t even seen yet. 🐴💜

Fall lessons officially started yesterday, and these kids did absolutely amazing. Watching them come back, grow in their confidence, and take on new challenges is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I’m so excited to see what this group accomplishes over the next few months. Not just in the saddle, but in the little ways they continue to grow, learn, and become more confident in themselves.

Here’s to a new season full of growth, memories, and lots of time with the horses. 🍂🐴💜

What if the goal wasn’t to make the horse do it… but to create a conversation? 🐴

That was the focus of this morning’s lesson.

We stepped out of the saddle and into a free-lunging lesson—not to simply send a horse around the arena, but to help the rider become more aware of how much can be communicated without ever touching the reins.

Every step was an opportunity to observe.

The horse’s rhythm.
The change in energy.
The smallest shift in body language.
The difference between a horse responding and a horse simply reacting.

Could we influence the horse’s speed with feel? Could we recognize the difference between a jog and a trot by watching the rhythm of the movement? Could we find the slowest, most balanced jog possible without allowing it to become a walk?

And most importantly, could we do it together?

There is a big difference between asking, “How do I get my horse to do this?” and asking, “How can I make this clear enough for my horse to understand?”

That shift in perspective changes everything.

It encourages riders to slow down, pay attention, and take responsibility for their own communication. It teaches them that horsemanship is not about controlling every movement—it’s about creating clarity, trust, and partnership.

These details can be easy to overlook from the saddle. But when riders learn to truly see the horse on the ground, they begin to feel and understand so much more when they ride.

That’s the kind of horsemanship I want to build.

Not riders who simply know how to make a horse go.

Partners who know how to listen, communicate, and work together. 💜

Sometimes the biggest progress happens when we slow down enough to notice what the horse has been saying all along.

The most rewarding moments aren’t always the biggest ones—they’re the quiet breakthroughs when a rider suddenly realizes, “I can do this.” 🐴💜

Tonight’s lessons were all about learning to feel what’s happening underneath you, rather than simply telling the horse what to do.

✨ One lesson turned mindfulness into a fun game—counting the horse’s steps, paying attention to his rhythm, and learning to feel when it was time to ask him to stop. It took so much focus and awareness, and she did amazing! We even finished with a little jogging because she was doing so well.

✨ In the other lesson, we tackled some exciting firsts! She posted for the very first time, learned what a diagonal is, and worked on having a soft, steady feel with her hands through different transitions. So many new things to think about, and she handled it beautifully.

Watching these girls grow has absolutely amazed me. It’s not just about becoming a better rider—it’s about learning to listen, think, communicate, and build confidence with their horses.

Every lesson brings a new challenge, a new accomplishment, and another reason to be proud. I can’t wait to see where their hard work and growing confidence take them next. 🤍🐴

Sometimes, the most powerful part of a child’s riding lesson isn’t the skill they master—it’s the joy, confidence, and connection that shine across their face afterward. And for parents, seeing that transformation in photos can become one of the most meaningful moments of their week. 🐴💜

Those moments mean just as much to me.

Because these lessons are about so much more than learning to ride or mastering the next skill.

They’re about teaching kids that horses are far more than animals we sit on. They’re living, feeling partners who deserve our care, patience, appreciation, and respect.

Through their time with the horses, kids learn to communicate without always using words. They learn to slow down, listen, build trust, stay calm when things feel challenging, and keep going when progress doesn’t come easily.

Most importantly, they learn that partnership isn’t about what the horse can do for us. It’s about putting the horse first, finding a way to work together, and building something based on mutual trust.

So when you sign your child up for lessons, you’re giving them more than the opportunity to learn how to ride.

You’re giving them a place to develop patience, confidence, responsibility, empathy, communication, and trust—with a horse beside them every step of the way.

And those little smiles, quiet moments, and genuine connections we capture in photos?

They’re reminders that the most meaningful lessons often happen when no one is keeping score. 🤍🐴

Last night was one of those evenings that reminds me why I love watching these kids grow. 🐴💜

Each lesson looked a little different, but every student was building something that matters far beyond the arena.

✨ One worked through a showmanship pattern, learning new skills while really focusing on connection and communication with their horse.

✨ Another worked on riding independently through obstacles—and absolutely amazed me by riding Jack all by herself. Watching that confidence grow was such a proud moment.

✨ And another took the time to really understand the fundamentals while building balance, connection, and a stronger feel.

Different goals, different challenges, but the same result—three amazing students who kept learning, trying, and growing.

It’s not always about the biggest accomplishment. Sometimes it’s the little moments when you realize, “Wow… look how far you’ve come.” 💜🐴

🐴✨ This morning was all about finding the rhythm, trusting the feel, and learning to communicate without overthinking every step.

We worked our way through different obstacles, focusing on staying balanced, keeping a steady rhythm, and paying attention to the little changes in our horses. It was so fun watching them figure things out, make adjustments, and find that quiet communication between horse and rider.

They didn’t just get through the obstacles — they connected through them. 🤍

So proud of how confidently they worked today and how much they continue to grow with every ride. These little moments are where so much learning happens. 🐴
