In the fall of 1979 seven ladies in Syracuse, NY came together to establish a graduate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. These ladies recognized the importance and need of following the founding principles of this great sorority in the city of Syracuse. After much discussion and planning they decided to accept the call to Community, Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. Kappa

Xi Zeta was chartered on January 31 1981, by seven exceptional women motivated for professionalism and service in the community .Kappa Xi Zeta charter members are: Beulah N. Jackson, Myrlene Jones, Alice Gwendolyn Kirby-Machua, Betty Steee, Thelma Sutton-Udell, Cassandra Wiggley and Rebenni Wilson. Kappa Xi Zeta chapter continues to be of assistance to the Syracuse Community
