It was not an easy decision for us to stop running our organization and continue coaching travel softball. 20+ years and we worked with hundreds upon hundreds of athletes that had the great fortune of playing at various levels of College softball. We are very thankful for the great friendships that were created over the years between our UNY Revolution and RI Thunder UNY days. Far too many great people to name in one post.
But life changes and from that so do priorities. For all of us. Despite many requests from players outside and within to forge ahead and even expand in the CNY market, it is simply not possible. Family, work/coaching College Softball has to be our mutual priority going forward. There is only so much time in a day. Not an easy decision but a necessary one. For those of you who land a RI Thunder UNY athlete (travel or college) you are getting a great kid from a great family because that is what we had.
Finally, thank you to Lou Bishop of the TC Tremors who helped us get our start back in 2007 when what is the UNY Revolution today, was founded. Thank you to Dale Cook and Bob Bates of the Conklin Raiders as despite their differences 🙂 , both of these organizations pioneered high level travel softball in Upstate NY and raised the bar when it comes to competing on the regional/national stage. Thank you to Jeff Cooley, John Catalano and Curt Johnson who we had the great fortune to work side by side with for many years at the UNY Revolution. Thank you to Dave Lotti and Bob Rossi who run the nationally renowned RI Thunder for allowing us to represent your great organization this past season. We are forever grateful to you all!
