There’s been a lot of conversation about War Games this week. So rather than add to the noise, we want to make one public statement and bring the focus back to where it belongs: our community.
Our Shop With A Cop fundraiser was started in October 2021 and has ran every October since. It was created for a very simple purpose, to use professional wrestling as a platform to raise money and help people right here at home.
“Shop With A Cop War-Games” is simply this years event title based off the main event for the show which is a “War-Games”
style match. It’s not two separate events and never has been.
Now, that said, this event is supporting three specific purposes:
First, raising money for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department’s Shop With A Cop program, which helps provide Christmas for local children in our community.
Second, it provides theSmoky Mountain High School Football program with an opportunity to raise money for its program and its student athletes.
Third, we will be helping a local resident who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. To be completely clear, that individual will receive assistance only from proceeds generated through the raffle items at the event.
That’s it.
We know our community doesn’t agree on everything. We never will. We have different politics, different beliefs, different backgrounds and different opinions. That is part of living in a free community.
But we don’t believe we have to agree on everything to do something good together.
H2L Ministries and Heroes 2 Legends Wrestling have always been about using the platform we have to give back. Since 2021, we have continued putting our time, money, energy and creativity into events designed to benefit people in our community.
Shop With A Cop War-Games is no different.
We aren’t asking anyone to change their political beliefs. We aren’t asking anyone to agree with us on everything.
We are simply inviting people to come together for one night and support some worthwhile causes.
At the end of the night, this isn’t about politics.
It isn’t about personalities.
It isn’t about arguments on social media.
It isn’t about whether you like someone participating in the event.
It’s about local kids getting Christmas.
It’s about supporting local student athletes.
It’s about helping a local person and their family through a difficult time.
That is why we are doing this.
We are not going to spend our time arguing with people about it, and we aren’t going to participate in a back-and-forth online. This will be our one public statement on the matter.
We would much rather put our energy where we believe it can actually make a difference.
Wrestling is the platform.
The community is the beneficiary.
The children are the reason.
And at the end of the day, that’s what Shop With A Cop War-Games is really about.
