Windsports was established in 1974 as southern California School of Hang Gliding by world class competition pilots and instructors Joe Greblo and Richard Grigsby. Building on their experience and their commitment to professionalism, the school quickly became the leader in providing quality flight training to students from all over the world. While its reputation as a premier flight academy has flourished, Windsports has blossomed into a full-service hang gliding company with a professionally trained staff dedicated to providing superior aviation services including certified flight training, sales of recreational through competition hang gliders and flight equipment, lesson trips and excursions to flying locations all over the world, and product services and maintenance. Windsports is also the parent company of Stunt Wings Adventure Sports Productions, the nations leading television and motion picture industry provider of adventure sports talent and equipment. Best place to see hang gliders from an airplane? Flying out of LAX! If you’re lucky enough to have a left window seat, you’ll be able to see our Dockweiler Beach training hill in front of the red and white smokestacks. You may even see us flying!

Come try hang gliding with us next time you’re in town—beach lessons are available from Wednesday through Sunday! Tandem flights also available at our mountain site in Sylmar. No experience required. We can’t wait to fly with you 🦅

Dockweiler beach will have patchy fog this morning then turn mostly cloudy with a high of 64 degree and winds east southeast 5-10 mph
