Congratulations to Wesley Coleman, Sylacauga Parks & Recreation’s tennis professional, on winning the Gold Medal in Tennis at the 2026 Transplant Games of America!

This incredible achievement is a testament not only to Wesley’s skill on the court, but also to his determination, perseverance, and appreciation for the gift of life that made this opportunity possible.

We are especially proud that Wesley represents our community every day through his work developing players of all ages and skill levels here in Sylacauga. His passion for tennis and commitment to helping others improve their game have had a lasting impact on countless players throughout our area.

This accomplishment is also a celebration of family. We are thrilled to see Wesley share this special moment with his wife, Danielle, and their sons, Hudson and Cade, whose love and support have been part of the journey.

As Wesley competes, he also helps honor the donors and donor families whose generosity changes lives and makes events like the Transplant Games possible.

Congratulations, Wesley! Sylacauga is proud of you, and we’re grateful to have you representing our community on the national stage.

This week, Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Tennis Professional Wesley Coleman will travel to Denver, Colorado, to compete in the 2026 Transplant Games of America.

Two years ago, Wesley competed in the Transplant Games of America and brought home the gold medal in tennis, a remarkable achievement that reflected both his athletic ability and his determination. This year, he returns to compete once again on a national stage.

The Transplant Games are about much more than athletic competition. They celebrate the gift of life, honor transplant recipients, recognize living donors, and remember the donor heroes and families whose selfless decisions have given others a second chance. Wesley's participation serves as an inspiration to all of us and shines a light on the incredible impact that organ, tissue, and living donation can have on individuals and families.

As Wesley heads to Denver, we wish him the very best. We are proud to call him our tennis professional, proud of the difference he makes in our community, and proud to support him as he represents Sylacauga, the transplant community, and everyone whose lives have been touched by the gift of donation.

Good luck, Wesley! The entire Sylacauga tennis community is cheering for you!

BEGINNER TENNIS CLINIC

Interested in learning the game of tennis this summer? Our Beginner Tennis Clinic is the perfect place to start. Designed for players with little to no experience, this clinic focuses on building fundamentals in a fun, encouraging, and active environment.

Players will learn: Basic stroke fundamentals, Footwork and movement, Serving and rally skills, Court positioning and scoring, Confidence through drills and games

Whether you're brand new to tennis or looking to build a stronger foundation, this clinic is a great way to get involved and improve your skills this summer.

ADVANCED TENNIS CLINIC

Looking for a more competitive tennis environment this summer? Our Advanced Tennis Clinic is designed for experienced players who want to sharpen their game, improve match play, and compete alongside other motivated athletes.

Players will receive:
1 hour and 30 minutes of coaching each week
Competitive drills and point play
Match strategy and situational training
Opportunities for additional voluntary practice and match competition on Thursdays

This clinic is a great opportunity to stay active this summer while continuing to grow as a player in a fun but competitive atmosphere.
