Why Box jump? Leading Force plate researcher Dr. Hicks-Little discovered through a study on 9-time world Box jump record holder, Ryan Moody, a few interesting facts:
1. Box jumping isn’t a vertical or horizontal jump force, it’s diagonal.
2. Jumping to an easy 24 inches produced 2x times bodyweight in Force. A 60+ box Jump produced 4-5x bodyweight in Force. More force than Moody’s 44 inch vertical produced. Now that is explosive power!
3. THE LANDING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POWER PRODUCTION! Whether the knees are above the hips on landing or not had no effect on the power produced. The takeoff and intent to produce explosive power was the defining factor of explosive power produced.

All 3 angles must be trained to the maximum effort and maximum height and distance-vertical, diagonal, and horizontal foot explosive power in the hips.
