Been meaning to put together a wing removal tutorial for a long time. Finally with the help of Stanley and my long suffering editor and camera woman, Ryann, we were able to get it put together. Still has all the Benanza Pilot shenanigans with some accidentally informative content mixed in!

I feel like every flight school and CFI should watch this video. Rolling start or static start on takeoff. Which do you think is better?

V-Tail Bonanza Short-field Technique: Rolling vs. Static Run-up.

This is sure to be controversial, but it is what it is. My instructor (a very smart and accomplished pilot) and I (a very dumb and un-accomplished pilot) dis...

I’m not gonna go super far back with my YT content. If you are subscribed to my channel, hopefully you have kept up with my uploads over the last couple of years. They have been few and far between.

This year, big things have been happening with the channel, and I have had the opportunity to partner with Electroair, an aviation electronic ignition company, to install their system on my 1950 B35 “STOL Bonanza.” Here’s a little preview of that install. A full review will be coming in the near future!

I Installed Modern Electronic Ignition in a Classic Bonanza: Electroair Teaser

It’s been hard to keep this secret, but I have been given the opportunity to install and test Electroair’s Electronic Ignition System for the E-series Bonanz...

Hey, folks, Benanza Pilot here. Haven’t touched this page in a while, as most of my YT promotion was done through my main FB account. Going to try to get this page up and running again, as I have been working on a bunch of fun projects recently. Sorry for the post spam that is incoming. I have a lot to catch you guys up on.

Where has Ben Weeks Bonanza Pilot been, you ask (I’m sure no one but my Dad was actually asking that)?

Well, life got a bit chaotic over the last 3 months. My former fiancée, now wife, experienced a terrible horse-riding accident one month before our wedding. We graduated on May 7th with a Bachelor of Science degree and got married on May 8th.

As one does when they get a Pre-Medicine degree, Holly and I applied to medical school. She was accepted almost immediately to Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Joplin, Missouri, but I was not so fortunate. Through an almost miraculous turn of events, I was granted an interview there and placed on a waitlist. I simmered on the waitlist for over 2 months before being offered a position last Monday.

As wonderful as the last month had been in terms of our future careers in medicine, my future as Ben Weeks Bonanza Pilot is not quite as promising. I still have not been able to complete my checkride, thanks to a series of events that have been largely out of my control. The likelihood that I will have my PPL before starting medical school is almost 0.

I have no intention of giving up flying, and I would love to continue to make YouTube videos, but for the next 4 years, my focus will be exclusively on medical school. Hopefully this is not goodbye, it is merely a see you later.

As my last aviation act before beginning the medical school grind, and weather permitting, I am hoping to attend the Bonanza fly-in at Gastons this Saturday with my Dad. If you are able to make it, it would be cool to meet some of you in person.

Thanks for all of the support over the last couple years! As always: Clear skies!

So apparently my iPad can auto generate little video clips out of my photo stream and put its own generic music to it. I don’t know how it does it, but I think it’s better at editing than I am. Maybe I should just let my iPad edit all of my YouTube videos...

Here’s a little sequence from August of last year when my dad took my uncle for a nice evening flight. Needless to say he loves Bonanzas!

Oh, and thanks for 500 subs on the channel! This is not the 500 sub special I promised, but things are a little chaotic right now, so it is still going to be a minute.
