🐅💪 Tiger Challenge 2026 💪🐅

Last week, the SHS Cheerleaders, Lady Tigers Basketball Team, and Lady Tigers Flag Football Team participated in Tiger Challenge 2026 at Georgia Southern University.

One of the highlights of the day was conquering the 60-foot rappel tower, where student-athletes had to trust their instructors, communicate effectively, and have the confidence to step off the edge and lean back.

Since its creation in 2017, Tiger Challenge has focused on building teamwork, leadership, communication, and trust among student-athletes. The experience pushed our Lady Tigers outside their comfort zones while strengthening the bonds that help create successful teams on and off the field of play.

The day concluded with a team-bonding cool-off at Splash in the Boro in Statesboro, Georgia, giving our student-athletes a chance to relax, celebrate their accomplishments, and enjoy time together after a day of challenges and growth.

A great day of growth, leadership, team building, and fun for our student-athletes!

Last week was a busy and productive one for the Swainsboro Lady Tigers as both the Varsity and JV squads competed against quality competition in Warner Robins and Bryan County.

One of the highlights of the week was Varsity’s 27-18 victory over Warner Robins, marking the first summer league win over Warner Robins during Coach Alexandria Walden’s tenure.

The 11th Annual Welcome to the Jungle Team Camp tips off today as summer league girls basketball returns to Swainsboro High School! We’ll have games taking place throughout the day in both the New Gym and Old Gym, featuring some outstanding programs from across the state.

What an AWESOME first day of the Swainsboro Basketball Fundamentals Mini Camp! 🐅🐯

From dribbling drills and shooting work to defense, teamwork, and nonstop energy, our campers showed up READY TO WORK! 💪🏽🏀 The energy and excitement throughout these moments truly show what Tiger & Lady Tiger basketball is all about!

A huge shoutout to our Swainsboro Tiger & Lady Tiger players, coaches, and volunteers for pouring into these young athletes and helping make Day One special. The future of Tiger & Lady Tiger basketball was definitely on display in The Den! 👏🏽🔥

We can’t wait to keep it rolling today with more drills, more competition, and more FUN! Thank you to all the parents and families for allowing your campers to be part of an outstanding experience!

The Swainsboro Basketball Fundamentals Mini Camp tips off Thursday & Friday, May 28-29, at Swainsboro High School’s NEW GYM (The Den)! 🐅🐯

📝 Registration Begins: 8:45 AM
⏰ Camp Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🍕 Lunch will be served for all camp participants!

There are STILL spots available, so if you want your child to be a part of an exciting day of basketball, fundamentals, fun, and energy, come on out and register in the morning! 💪🏽🏀

🏀✍🏾 THE NEXT CHAPTER STARTS NOW ✍🏾🏀

On Monday, May 11, Swainsboro Lady Tiger senior A’acaylah “K.K.” Murphy officially signed to continue her academic and basketball career at Andrew College! ⚔️

After an incredible high school career filled with hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and countless hours in the gym, KK made her decision official surrounded by family, teammates, coaches, and Tiger Nation in the Swainsboro High School Media Center.

Her journey to this moment has been nothing short of special. From making a name for herself as a freshman during the state playoffs to becoming the Region 3A Division I Player of the Year, KK has consistently proven herself as one of the top players in the state of Georgia.

This past season, Murphy averaged:
🏀 14.0 Points Per Game
💪 8.9 Rebounds Per Game
🔥 4.3 Steals Per Game

She also earned the opportunity to represent Swainsboro in the GACA Girls All-Star Game, competing alongside some of the best players across Georgia.

KK’s final decision came down to Young Harris College, Georgia Southern University-East Georgia Campus, and Andrew College before officially choosing Andrew College as the next stop in her basketball journey.

In attendance for the special occasion were her family members including her parents, Amber Cuyler and Demetrius Cuyler, along with her brothers, Demetrius “DJ” Cuyler and Devin Cuyler, and grandmother Judy Smith. Also there to support KK were members of the Lady Tiger basketball program, several of her flag football teammates, Coach Alexandra Walden, Coach Alicia Hendrix, Coach Cindy Brett, and a host of Tiger Nation supporters who packed the Media Center for the celebration.

Coach Walden encouraged KK to continue keeping God first, stay focused on school, never quit, and continue becoming the best version of herself both on and off the court.

Swainsboro is proud of you, KK. The work paid off and the journey is just getting started. 🐅

Girls Summer League Conditioning Tryouts Announcement

Girls Summer League conditioning tryouts will begin on Monday, May 11 @ 3:20pm, after school in the new gym. Participation is mandatory for all students interested in joining the Lady Tigers Basketball Program.

Please ensure the following requirements are completed:

Updated physical forms must be submitted prior to tryouts.
Teacher recommendation forms must be turned in by Friday, May 8.
All participants must adhere to the required dress code:

White T-shirt
Black bottoms
Running shoes
Tryouts will be held Monday through Thursday each week and will conclude at 5:00 PM. Students are expected to arrange prompt transportation home following each session.

Parents and students athletes this is your reminder that the Swainsboro Basketball Banquet tips off tonight at 6 PM in the new gym!

You won’t want to miss this special night as we honor our student-athletes and celebrate an incredible season. We’ll also hear inspiring words from former Swainsboro coach Fred Ricks, making it an even more meaningful occasion.
