A Training Program Built To Last

Endless cardio, chronic dieting, and low resistance exercises will not build the necessary muscle that is required for that “toned” body or, more importantly, a body that functions optimally. Without adequate muscle, we hold extra body fat, lack definition, destroy our metabolism, deplete our energy, disrupt hormones, and our health declines. At LightHouse, we te

ach women the importance of building and maintaining muscle through proper heavy strength training while including complimentary training days that enhance our weightlifting performance and everyday life. We’ve designed a training program built for real life that gives women the body they want and the health they need in order to live the life they dream of. And it all starts with a barbell.

Most women think getting “toned” means losing weight.

But that’s not actually what changes the shape of your body.

Think of your body like a suitcase.

A suitcase packed full of bulky winter clothes takes up a lot of space.

Now imagine putting those same clothes into vacuum-sealed bags.

The suitcase still contains the same clothes. The weight barely changes. But suddenly everything takes up less space.

Your body works similarly.

Muscle is dense and compact.

Body fat takes up more space.

That’s why two women can weigh exactly the same but look completely different.

One may appear softer.

The other may appear firmer, tighter, and more defined.

If you’ve lost weight but still don’t like how your body looks, the answer may not be to lose more weight.

The answer may be to build more muscle.

Because “toned” isn’t a weight.

It’s a body composition.

And muscle is what gives your body shape.

A special Memorial Day morning🇺🇸

6am crew 🤝🏼 9am crew

Today was about more than just a workout.

Memorial Day is a day to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country — and for many fitness communities, Murph has become a meaningful way to come together through challenge, effort, and community in remembrance of that sacrifice.

This morning, our women had the option to take on either a modified solo Murph or a team version — both designed to challenge and bring people together.

A morning full of encouragement, hard work, and women showing up for themselves and each other.

Proud of everyone who came out ❤️💙

Most women were taught exercise was mainly about staying skinny.

So they spend years doing:

• more cardio
• more sweating
• more calorie burning
• trying to get smaller

But eventually many women realize:
they don’t just want to be smaller.

They want to:

• feel STRONG
• have ENERGY again
• STOP aching all the time
• feel CONFIDENT in their clothes
• stay INDEPENDENT as they age
• TRUST their body again

That’s why strength training matters so much for women.

Because muscle helps women stay capable, confident, and independent for life.🤍

A lot of women have spent YEARS stuck in this cycle:

winter goes by → panic before summer → more cardio → eat less → try to “tone up” as fast as possible.

And honestly… sometimes panic cardio doesn’t even work.

So now you’re tired and beyond frustrated.

And even when it does “work”…
summer ends…
life gets busy again…
and everything resets until next year.

That cycle is exhausting.

Confidence doesn’t come from punishing yourself before bathing suit season.

Real confidence — and real results — come from consistent training over time.

Imagine:

•feeling strong carrying groceries, kids, or luggage
•having a workout routine you don’t quit after summer
•putting on shorts or a swimsuit without spiraling about how your body looks
• trusting yourself to stay consistent instead of constantly starting over
• feeling energized, capable, and confident in your body

One of the biggest shifts happens when women stop trying to punish their bodies and start focusing on getting stronger instead.

Not because lifting creates a “perfect body.”
But because consistent strength training changes the relationship women have with themselves.

And unlike panic cardio before summer…
that confidence lasts year-round 🤍

✨ Stuck in the same cycle year after year? We’ll help you change that.

A lot of the things women did to lose weight in their 20s were based on:
– eating less
– doing more cardio
– caffeine
– extremes

And honestly… some of it “worked” back then.

But after 40, your body becomes much less resilient to:
– under-fueling
– poor recovery
– chronic stress
– low protein intake

So the old:
“eat less + burn more”
approach often starts backfiring.

Now it looks like:
– low energy
– cravings
– poor recovery
– stalled progress
– workouts feeling harder instead of easier

Your body doesn’t need more punishment now.

It needs:
– strength training
– protein
– recovery
– consistency

✨ The goal now isn’t surviving on as little food as possible.
It’s building a body that feels strong, energized, and supported.

Most women aren’t eating “bad.”

Their day just isn’t built to support them.

It usually looks like:
– coffee + something quick in the morning
– a “healthy” lunch that’s light on protein
– snacks that don’t really do anything
– dinner where protein isn’t the main focus

So even though your food choices feel fine…
your body still isn’t getting enough to:
– stay full
– support your workouts
– actually change

The fix isn’t a new diet.

It’s building your meals so protein actually leads.

Same foods.
Same routine.
Just structured better.

Most women don’t struggle with protein because they don’t care.

They struggle because it feels hard.

You try to eat more and:
– you feel full quickly
– it feels like too much food
– you’re not sure how to fit it into your day

So you default back to what’s easy…
and end up under-eating again.

This isn’t a discipline problem.

It’s a strategy problem.

Because hitting your protein doesn’t mean:
– forcing down huge meals
– constantly feeling stuffed

It means being more intentional with:
– how you build your meals
– where protein shows up in your day
– making it easier, not harder

✨ If you want help making this actually feel doable, we’ll show you how.
