Boulder Hockey Club 14U Announcement | 2026–2027 Season

We are excited to announce that our Executive Director, Neil Runbeck, will serve as the 14AA Head Coach and 14U On-Ice Division Director for the 2026–2027 season. Neil will also continue in his role as Head Coach of the Lady Coyotes, ensuring strong alignment and development opportunities across all levels of our girls program.

This marks an exciting step forward for our 14U division as we continue to build a clear, consistent development path for our athletes—focused on preparing players for high school, AAA, juniors, and beyond.

Even more exciting—we’re getting the band back together.

Coach James Mercure will join Neil behind the bench as a coach for the 14AA team, while continuing in his role as our club-wide specialist in body contact, angling, and battle skills development.

Neil and James bring a proven track record of success together. As Tier 1 coaches at the 15O and 14U levels, they spent three seasons building elite teams—winning 2 State Championships and advancing to 2 District Championship games.

Beyond those accomplishments, they’ve coached together across multiple age levels in prestigious events, including 3 Quebec Qualifier Championships and numerous Silver Stick Regional Championships.

They also continue to collaborate in the offseason, training professional, college, and junior players—bringing that same high-level knowledge, structure, and expectation back to BHC.

This combination of experience, chemistry, and shared vision will provide our 14U athletes with an elite development environment—one that emphasizes skill progression, compete level, hockey IQ, and preparation for the next level.

We’re incredibly excited about the direction of the 14U division and what’s ahead this season. If you’re looking for a competitive, structured, and development-focused environment, we believe this will be a special year to be part of Boulder Hockey Club.

We are excited to announce Roger Gill as our 12U Division On-Ice Director and Head Coach for the 12A team for the 2026–2027 season!

Roger returns to the 12U division after leading our 14U program for the past five seasons, bringing with him a wealth of experience, leadership, and a proven track record of player development.

A Massachusetts native, Roger played his youth hockey there before continuing on to the collegiate level at Kent State University. He is entering his 17th season coaching youth hockey and has been a key member of the Boulder Hockey Club staff since the 2018–2019 season, serving each year as a Division Director. Roger has held a USA Hockey Level 5 Coaching Certification since 2009.

Roger’s coaching philosophy centers on continuous growth and intentional development:
“Challenging myself and my staff to improve on what and how we do things every season by studying today’s modern game. Player and team development begins with practicing with a purpose.”

10U Coaching Announcement

We are excited to announce Bobby Dominski as our 10U Division On-Ice Director and 10AA Head Coach for the 2026–2027 season!

A dedicated Boulder Hockey Club coach since 2011, Bobby returns to lead our 10U on-ice development while also taking the helm of our 10AA team.

Bobby began his playing career at Boulder Hockey Club before advancing to Monarch High School. He went on to play junior hockey in the NPHL with the Puget Sound Tomahawks in Seattle, and later returned home to compete in the inaugural season of the Boulder Jr. Bison in the WSHL.

With coaching experience across all ages and levels—particularly at the 10U, 12U, and 14U levels—Bobby brings a wealth of knowledge, energy, and passion to the ice. He holds a USA Hockey Level 4 coaching certification and most recently coached BHC’s 10A team.

"We’re incredibly excited to have Bobby back leading our 10U group and stepping into the 10AA Head Coach role," said Executive Director Neil Runbeck. "He has a proven track record of developing players at every stage, and his ability to connect with kids while building strong hockey habits is second to none. We can’t wait to get our players on the ice with him this season."

Help Us Support the Santa Clarita Lady Flyers

On January 29, a devastating multi-vehicle crash involving a snowplow and a van carrying members of the Santa Clarita Lady Flyers 12U girls hockey team occurred on eastbound I-70 near Idaho Springs.

The van was transporting part of the team to a tournament in Littleton. Tragically, the driver—a team parent—lost their life, and eight others sustained serious injuries.

This unimaginable loss has deeply impacted the players, their families, and the entire Santa Clarita hockey community. The emotional, medical, and logistical challenges these families now face are overwhelming.

When fires devastated our own community, Dawg Nation showed up—standing strong for Boulder Hockey Club and the Lady RoughRiders when we needed it most. Today, we have the opportunity to return that same compassion and support.
