Wow what another great event. The 9th annual Vets on the Lake is in the books. The WLSTA would like to thank our Veterans for their service.
We would also like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who volunteered making this day special. We couldn't do it without all the help. The way the lake superior fishermen unite and come out to share their passion with our Veterans is truly amazing.
We end the day with an incredible meal. We can't forget to thank everyone who prepared food and cooked some awesome fish. These men and women put on a feast second to none.

I would like to start by saying Mel and I are proud to be associated with a group of people that are so willing and giving of there time and effort to give back to our beautiful lake and their community. Yesterday was another amazing day we spent with our veterans fishing, picnicing, making new and reviving friendships. It amazes us to see how everyone comes together for this annual event. The shore crew needs to get most of the kudos as us fishermen have the easy part. Believe me the fishermen and woman that donate thier time and boats are truely overwhelming also. The picnic/fish fry they put on year after year is second to none anywhere that we have ever seen. All the food and fresh fish are truely wonderful and prepared with great pride. We also need to thank all our sponsors that make these types of events possible and you need to realize 95 percent are our local mom and pop businesses so please remember them when doing your business.
And then there is the vets themselves. They're sacrifices for our nation are really what makes this possible and we can't thank you ALL enough. We hope this small token we do for you for one day a year shows you how much we respect all you and your families have given your nation. THAN YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Also alot of our volunteers are veterans themselves doing double duty.
Sorry to be a little long winded but we just cant say enough how we look forward to this gathering each year and how much we appreciate and respect everyone involved.

Attention all captains for this weekends vets day. There is again a capts. meeting on Friday nite at 6 pm at the big tent if you can make it. You'll get your gift for you and mate, water,red flag, and letter of participation. There will also be a drawing for a few nice prizes. We will start to marshal around the tent sat morning around 545 coffee and donuts will be served. Thanks to all who volunteer for this wonderful event. See ya fri and sat.
