Parking Lot Improvement Project Update: Phase 1 Begins Wednesday, June 17th

Work is beginning on the expansion and repouring of the 21st Avenue lot.

What to know:
• The 21st Street entrance will remain open for drop-off.
• The lower parking lot will be closed.

Please allow a little extra time when arriving and departing. Thank you for your patience as we make these important improvements to the Superior YMCA.

Big improvements are coming to the Superior YMCA!

Beginning June 17th, we'll start a long-awaited parking lot improvement project designed to improve the parking surface, accessibility, traffic flow, and the overall member experience. The project will also include new limited mobility parking spaces.

This $345,000 investment by the YMCA will take place in three phases and includes both repaving and repouring to create a safer, more accessible parking lot for our community.

As construction progresses, different parking areas and entrances will be available during different phases of the project. Be sure to check back for updates on what parking areas are open and the best way to access the facility throughout construction.

Please allow a little extra time when arriving and departing. We'll continue to share updates before each new phase begins so you know what to expect.

Thank you for your patience and for being part of a community that continues to grow and invest in the future. Please note that the project start date has been moved from June 15th to June 17th due to contractor availability. We appreciate your understanding.

At the Superior YMCA, local students have been building confidence in and around the water through our Safety Around Water program.

Designed to reduce the risk of drowning, this program teaches children essential water safety skills such as swimming, floating, treading water, and safely exiting the pool in the event of an unexpected entry. Through hands-on instruction and fun activities, participants develop the knowledge and confidence they need to stay safe while enjoying time in and around the water.
