Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet held auditions last Sunday for our five 2026 Nutcracker productions, and we are thrilled with how successful the auditions were!

26 talented dancers auditioned for LEAD ROLES, making the judges’ decisions incredibly difficult.

Today, we are excited to welcome our dancers back for CALLBACKS as we make the final casting decisions for Clara, Sugar Plum Fairy, Spanish Lead, and Marzipans.

The level of talent and preparation made several decisions especially difficult for our judges.

This season, several of our students will have the exciting opportunity to be considered for the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in three of our five productions, while Ms. Daynelis will continue as our Sugar Plum Fairy for two performances.

Our first week of classes at Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet was absolutely amazing! We are incredibly excited for everything the 2026–2027 season has in store as we proudly begin our 9th Season at FLYB! ✨

The excitement is already building as we prepare for our upcoming Nutcracker Auditions and our five Nutcracker performances this season! ✨ We cannot wait to see our dancers continue to grow, work hard, and bring this beautiful production to life.

We also had the great joy of welcoming Dylan Custodio🧿 Mom 👀 back to the studio while he was home for a short vacation from New York City, where he trains at the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. It is always such a joy to see Dylan, and we could not be prouder of everything he continues to accomplish!

We were especially thrilled to see Dylan have the incredible opportunity to perform with ABT Studio Company this past season—a remarkable accomplishment and an exciting milestone in his journey. 🌟

Dylan, you make all of us at FLYB incredibly proud. We love you so much and wish you continued success as you pursue what we know will be an extraordinary career. Your dedication, talent, and hard work are an inspiration to so many young dancers. ❤️

✨WELCOME TO FORT LAUDERDALE YOUTH BALLET’S 9TH SEASON — 2026–2027! ✨

We are incredibly excited to announce that our 2026–2027 Season officially begins TOMORROW, Monday, August 10th!

As we begin our 9th Season, we look forward to another extraordinary year filled with beautiful dancing, artistic growth, discipline, unforgettable performances, exciting opportunities, and so many special memories together. ❤️

📍 The studio will open tomorrow at 4:30 PM for Registration and to welcome our dancers and families as we begin this exciting new season!

Our regular FLYB Homeschool Program begins Tuesday, August 11th at 9:30 AM.

To all of our returning dancers, welcome back home! And to all of the new students and families joining the FLYB family this season, welcome! We are so happy to have you with us! 🩰

International Ballet Festival of Miami – Young Medalists Performance

The Young Medalists Performance at the International Ballet Festival of Miami was truly beyond our expectations!

We are deeply honored to have been invited to represent Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet. Our students took the stage with exceptional artistry, passion, and elegance, making us immensely proud.

Arielle and Pablo Acosta delivered a thrilling and commanding performance of the Diana and Acteon Pas de Deux and Coda, captivating the audience with their power, virtuosity, and dynamic partnership. Arielle also performed a beautiful variation from The Pharaoh’s Daughter, showcasing her artistry and refinement.

Natalia Stocking Natalie Grace Stocking danced the Giselle Grand Pas with remarkable grace, sensitivity, and technical excellence, while Camila Wizel | Parent Owned enchanted the audience with her exquisite interpretation of Paquita Variation No. 5, dancing with beautiful poise, elegance, and classical purity.

Our heartfelt thanks to Mr Eriberto Jimenez for the gracious invitation. It is always a privilege and a joy to perform at such a prestigious festival and to share the stage with so many extraordinary young artists. We are grateful for the opportunity to represent our school and celebrate the beauty of classical ballet through this remarkable event.

We can hardly believe that Week 5 of our 2026 Summer Intensive has already come to an end! Time has flown by as our dancers have immersed themselves in weeks of inspiring training, artistic growth, and unforgettable memories.

Tomorrow, Monday, August 3, through Saturday, August 8, 2026, we begin Week 6—the final week of this year’s Summer Intensive!

Week 5 was truly exceptional. We had the privilege of welcoming outstanding guest faculty, including the phenomenal Traci-Ann Pearce Skinner Traci-Ann Pearce Skinner , whose Contemporary classes inspired and challenged our dancers with her extraordinary artistry and talent; Mr. Jonhal Fernandez , who shared his wealth of knowledge and excellence in Classical Ballet; and Ms. Ronna Dolores Azaña Ronna Azaña Olarte , whose Stretch and Contemporary classes brought incredible energy, strength, and artistry to our students.

Enjoy these beautiful photographs capturing some of the many unforgettable moments, friendships, and artistic achievements that have made this Summer Intensive so special. We are incredibly proud of every dancer and can’t wait to see what an amazing final week has in store!

It is a true privilege to be part of one of the most celebrated ballet festivals in the Young Medalist Performance bringing together exceptional young artists in a celebration of classical dance and artistic excellence.

This past weekend, we had the incredible honor of welcoming the exceptionally talented Sharon Jacobsohn Morgenstern from DancerImages Sharon , who beautifully captured our students during Mr. Carlos Ignacio Galindez Macias ballet class.

We have successfully completed Week 4 of our 2026 Summer Intensive! What another extraordinary week it has been with our incredible group of 35 dedicated students!

Throughout the week, our dancers immersed themselves in intensive training in Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Pas de Deux, Contemporary, Stretch, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and Ballet Terminology. Every class was filled with inspiration, discipline, artistic excellence, and invaluable opportunities for growth. We were also honored to welcome the outstanding Amaya Rodriguez Amaya Rodriguez as one of our Summer Intensive Guest Teachers, whose expertise and artistry greatly enriched our program. Intermediate Pas de Deux with Me German Dager was an incredible highlight of the week and the Advanced Pas de Deux worked on Sugar Plum Pas de Deux with Mr Carlos.

We are now thrilled to welcome 30 talented dancers for Week 5! We are honored to have Mr. Jonhal Fernandez joining us as a Summer Intensive Guest Faculty member, where he will be teaching Intermediate Pas de Deux, along with Ms. Ronna Dolores Azaña Olarte, who will be leading our Physical Preparation and Contemporary classes.

Congratulations to each and every one of our students! Your dedication, perseverance, and passion continue to inspire us daily. Keep striving for excellence, embracing every challenge, and pursuing your artistry with determination—the journey continues, and the very best is yet to come!
