It's hard to believe we are getting ready to welcome September! While it's officially the beginning of Fall, it still feels very much like Summer, so we are proceeding with 5 stages, tents, fans and plenty of water for our shooters' enjoyment. Registration starts at 8am Sat, posse walk-through at 8:30am, safety meeting at 8:45am and shooting begins at 9:00am. Set up is on Friday at 5pm and we look forward to seeing you all....both days, if you can make it. We sure could use the help. If not, see you Saturday!

It's time once again for GCGS's annual fun in the sun Hawaiian shoot this coming Saturday, where you can choose to put on "relaxed" wear such as your favorite Hawaiian shirt and shorts - and even your favorite grass skirt for the more adventurous - as long as you have SASS-approved footwear and preferably a hat to keep the hot brass from rolling down your back! As has become our tradition, it's a match under cover, so we will have a match come rain or shine with large fans and water to keep us happy and hydrated. GCGS is gearing up for our monthly match this coming Saturday which as you know is the 250 year celebration of our Declaration of Independence. We would be honored if you all would join us and spend a few hours honoring the commemoration of our freedom by throwing a few rounds down range with us. We will kick off the match with a rolling thunder salute to our late friend and GCGS member, Medicine Bow. Not going to lie, it will be warm and then some, but our tents, fans and water will make for a pleasant morning. It's a match under cover, so we will have a match come rain or shine. This month's 5-stage match will be written by Thunderbolt Hayes, and the scenarios will be posted in the next few days on our website. www.goldcoastgunslingers.com

Some of the Gold Coast Gunslingers traveled up to The OK Corral to shoot with its sister club. We had a great time. What a great bunch of sbooters we had. The weather turned a little warm, but we made it through. I did get a pic of me (the photographer) so I used an older pic dressed in my Red/White& Blue. We will be shooting on July 4th, so come out and join us for our celebratory 4th of July Match..... wear some red, white & blue . Hope you enjoy the pics.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR MEDICINE BOW, aka MARK BEGGS

Our late cowboy friend and fellow shooter Medicine Bow was also a member of the Hollywood Rifle and Pistol Club. Accordingly, they will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 7:00pm. Their facility is located at:

(West of I-95 on Sterling Rd. There is a small shopping center next to the range that will have ample parking)

We are very saddened to inform everyone of the passing of another long-time cowboy friend, Medicine Bow, aka Mark Beggs. Mark was a longtime member of the Gold Coast Gunslingers along with his wife Sidekick Chick, aka Jan Beggs. We have many great memories of them both through the years as you can see by the pics, not just at our matches but at annual matches and the infamous Sadie Hawkins match where he did a great job showing off his saloon girl prowess. 😊 He was a good shooter and even better sport. He and Sidekick most recently split their time between their Florida and Tennessee homes and we were so looking forward to seeing them at our matches again. We will miss Mark's fresh sense of humor and smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sidekick and their daughter. Happy trails until we see you again, friend.

The Gold Coast Gunslingers June 2026 Saturday match. We had a great day... nice & breezy and shady thanks to the tents. Anybody that wasn't there sure missed a great time... and not only for the weather. The scenarios were great... nice & quick. If you haven't shot in a while, come on out and give it a try under the tents. It really is a great improvement over being out in the field in the sun.
