CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR MEDICINE BOW, aka MARK BEGGS
June 26, 2026 at 7:00pm

Our late cowboy friend and fellow shooter Medicine Bow was also a member of the Hollywood Rifle and Pistol Club. Accordingly, they will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 7:00pm. Their facility is located at:

(West of I-95 on Sterling Rd. There is a small shopping center next to the range that will have ample parking)

We are very saddened to inform everyone of the passing of another long-time cowboy friend, Medicine Bow, aka Mark Beggs. Mark was a longtime member of the Gold Coast Gunslingers along with his wife Sidekick Chick, aka Jan Beggs. We have many great memories of them both through the years as you can see by the pics, not just at our matches but at annual matches and the infamous Sadie Hawkins match where he did a great job showing off his saloon girl prowess. 😊 He was a good shooter and even better sport. He and Sidekick most recently split their time between their Florida and Tennessee homes and we were so looking forward to seeing them at our matches again. We will miss Mark's fresh sense of humor and smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sidekick and their daughter. Happy trails until we see you again, friend.

The Gold Coast Gunslingers June 2026 Saturday match. We had a great day... nice & breezy and shady thanks to the tents. Anybody that wasn't there sure missed a great time... and not only for the weather. The scenarios were great... nice & quick. If you haven't shot in a while, come on out and give it a try under the tents. It really is a great improvement over being out in the field in the sun. GCGS is inviting everyone to the monthly match this coming Saturday, June 6 at Markham Park. It will be warm, but our tents, fans and water make everything SO much easier. Registration starts at 8am Sat, posse walk-through at 8:30am, safety meeting at 8:45am and shooting begins at 9:00am. Set up is on Friday at 5pm and we look forward to seeing you all....both days, if you can make it. If not, see you Saturday!

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of another beloved cowboy, Regular Rude (aka Lawrence Rude Jackson) this past week. Regular Rude has had health issues for the last several years but prior to that, was a regular at our matches, always showing up with a smiling face and positive attitude....the epitome of an all around cowboy. He was such a good sport, he even agreed to take part in a Sadie Hawkins match 16 years ago, stunning everyone with his creativity! Any man who can sport an outfit like that, look beautiful and shoot well is confident in his manhood! He will be sorely missed by all of us. Happy trails, my friend, and thanks for the great memories.

GCGS is gearing up for our monthly match this Saturday! It looks to be a warm day so come on down and enjoy the comfort of shooting from under our tarps. Yesterday April 4th, 2026 was our Monthly Match for the Gold Coast Gunslingers..... although no Easter Eggs were found.....

Yesterday April 4th, 2026 was our Monthly Match for the Gold Coast Gunslingers..... although no Easter Eggs were found... we had a great time. Set-up on Friday went quickly, the tents were put up for shade... although breezy they seemed fine. But decided to take the covers off for overnight. We put them back on in the morning. The weather was absolutely terrific. We couldn't have asked for better. Although near the end, two tents got blown into each other with a surprise strong gust of wind. No damage done, but had to remove the cover to get them entangled.... boy, that was a surprise!

The Gold Coast Gunslingers held a social at Outback Steakhouse in Davie on Sunday, March 29. This social was special because one of our founding members will be leaving the area soon. Angus McNasty will be greatly missed. We wanted to commerate and show our appreciation for all his service & dedication and wish him much luck before he left us. There was a lott of "roasting" and story telling by all attending. Although ordering a "Spirit of the Game" badge almost a month ago, we didnt get it in time. We had us use a photo copy of one instead.

We had a private dining area provided for us by Outback. Their service was impeccable.

The Florida state match, The Last Stand, was great but it is behind us and now it's time to start practicing for next year starting this Saturday! We are looking forward to the scenarios created by our own Thunderbolt Hayes. They will be posted on www.goldcoastgunslingers.com shortly.
