đź’ˇ How much does it cost to charge an e-bike?

If you think riding an e-bike is expensive, think again. Charging an e-bike in 2025 costs only 7 to 15 cents per full charge depending on your battery size and local electricity rate. That means most riders spend just $2 to $5 per month to keep their bikes running.

✅ Here’s what to know:

- A 500Wh battery costs about 8 cents per full charge on average.
- E-bikes use up to 95% less energy than cars for the same distance.
- Charging at home is cheaper and easier than using public stations.

⚡ How to derestrict an electric bike (safely and legally) ⚡

Thinking about removing your e-bike’s speed limit? You’re not alone. Many riders want a little more speed and freedom. But before you do, it’s important to understand what it means, how to do it safely, and where it’s actually legal.

✅ Here’s a quick summary:

You can derestrict your e-bike by removing or bypassing its built-in speed limiter.

Common methods include using a tuning kit, adjusting display settings, or moving the wheel speed sensor magnet.

In most countries, derestricted e-bikes are not legal for public roads. They’re meant for private property or off-road use only.

đź’ˇ Pro tip: Always check your local laws first. Derestricting can void your warranty, drain your battery faster, and increase wear on the motor.

If you still want to explore this option, I’ve explained the safest and most legal ways to do it step by step.

🚴‍♂️ E-bike battery is fully charged but not working? Here’s how to fix it

It’s one of the most frustrating e-bike problems. You plug in your battery, see it fully charged, but when you press the power button, nothing happens.

Before you rush to buy a new battery, there’s a good chance it’s something simple like:

🔹 Loose or dirty connections
🔹 A tripped Battery Management System (BMS)
🔹 A blown fuse or low voltage issue

Start by checking the battery terminals and making sure they’re clean and properly seated. Then try resetting the battery or testing it with a multimeter to confirm the voltage.

If everything looks fine but your bike still won’t power up, it could be the controller, display, or even the throttle causing the issue.

đź’ˇ I recently wrote a full guide breaking down the most common causes, step-by-step fixes, and how to prevent this from happening again.
