A late post but wanted to wrap up turkey season 2026 was another great one. We finished out the year in Maine and completed our grand slams on Miriam‘s in Wyoming couldn’t ask for a better way to spend the month of May and can’t wait to get back after it next year with golds down in Mexico are your ended with 15 long beards a couple less than last year but a great year my most long beards of any spring with nine and just can’t believe how fortunate we are to be able to travel around and experience the spring Turkey Woods in different states. Now for simple Bowfishing.

Opening day of Vt was a little back and forth given, our Birds changed it up the day before we got to hunt them, but it ended up working out. Max’s Birds worked right in first thing and after changing set ups, I was able to get within range of another nice Vermont bird.

Quick trip down to Massachusetts to start off our local season didn’t disappoint. I roosted these birds last night and was able to watch three long beards fly up, of course they roosted a little further than I thought. So my set up wasn’t the best but after some patience and light calling, I brought them from the lower field around and up to me and was able to harvest my third long beard of the 2026 season God is good. And he has no snood!! First time seeing this looks like it was pulled off in an old injury. 20.2 lbs 9 1/4” beard 1” spur

Another late post from September 2025 on my first elk hunt in Colorado. What an amazing experience I got to do five days of hunting in the Colorado Rockies and was successful on shooting a beautiful 6 x 6 bull face-to-face at 2 yards on the top of a mountain in the middle of a rain storm made a good shot, but unfortunately, with the terrain and weather, we didn’t find the bull for two days and only 100 yards from where we saw him go out of sight. He made 180° turn and cut back over the ridge, but we were able to recover the horns and I can’t wait to get back out for another experience.

Late posting but our yearly trip last fall to Ohio for archery whitetail. Max turned 16 and helped with the driving, I slept one eye open! We had a touch hunt but both managed to get a buck the last day, Max’s first with a compound bow. Another year in the books. This year we will be going to Kentucky and can’t wait to see what it brings.

Max and I have had an amazing trip so far to Wyoming for merriams turkey to complete our grand slam. I drew my second tag and we got 3 mature toms in 3 days of hunting and even had some time to do some sightseeing. What an awesome trip and still have some time left before we go back to Vermont.
