Our goal is to provide players with a developmental pathway that combines quality instruction, competitive game experience, and year-round training opportunities in a positive environment where athletes can build confidence, develop their skills, and grow their love for the game.

The 7U/8U Travel Prep Academy is designed for families looking for more than rec baseball/softball while not yet ready for competitive travel baseball/softball. Players will focus on skill development, learning the game, and preparing for future travel baseball and softball opportunities.

Our 9U and 10U Travel Teams are designed for players seeking a competitive travel baseball/softball experience with an emphasis on player development and long-term growth. Athletes will benefit from structured team practices, competitive game opportunities, year-round training, and unlimited access to The Batter's Box facility. Players and families will have the opportunity to utilize the facility outside of team activities, creating additional opportunities to train, develop skills, and invest in their growth throughout the year.

☀️ Big Summer Update from The Batter’s Box of Sunbury! ⚾🥎

Hey everyone! We hope you’re all enjoying your summer and having a great season playing rec ball, travel ball, and everything in between!

We know we haven’t posted a major update in a little while, but that’s because we’ve been busy working behind the scenes on some exciting things for the future of The Batter’s Box.

Today, we’re excited to announce a big addition to our program:

Please join us in welcoming Justin Brown as our Director of Travel Team Operations.

Justin brings an incredible background in collegiate athletics, player development, leadership coaching, scouting, and travel baseball. He has previously served as a collegiate head baseball coach at both the NAIA and NCAA Division III levels and has coached with some of the region’s top travel baseball organizations, including Ohio Elite Baseball and Bo Jackson Elite.

He also served as Ohio Assistant Scouting Director for Prep Baseball Report and as Director of Baseball Development at Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports, where he helped support player development programming for athletes throughout Central Ohio.

Beyond the field, Justin currently works as a Mental Performance and Leadership Coach, serving athletes, coaches, and executives across the country. His client base includes athletes and coaches competing in the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, and nationally competitive high school and collegiate athletic programs.

Throughout his coaching career, Justin has helped develop multiple players who have gone on to play professional baseball, while also working with athletes at every level of competition.

As a player, Justin was a First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region pitcher at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He was also a two-time team captain under NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Keith Veale and a two-time recipient of the NAIA Champions of Character Award.

In his new role with The Batter’s Box of Sunbury, Justin will help lead and support our travel team program through:

✅ Team formation
✅ Coach coordination and development
✅ Parent communication
✅ Player development structure
✅ Overall travel team operations

This is an important step as we continue building a positive, organized, and development-focused travel program for baseball and softball players in our community.

We are excited for what’s ahead and grateful to have Justin joining The Batter’s Box family.

Please help us welcome Justin Brown to The Batter’s Box of Sunbury! ⚾🥎
