We are the only Stanley rafting company located at the put-in. With White Otter you are not bused with a large group of people to and from Stanley. When you arrive to our 'town' of Sunbeam, you get outfitted and walk directly to the river with our incredible, fun-loving guides.

We've got some exciting news! A very generous community member has recently donated to White Otter specifically to create several kayak school scholarships for this year’s upcoming Intermediate Youth Kayak Camp on the Main Salmon. Currently there are plenty of available spots in our course and we wanted to inform you of this awesome opportunity.

July 9th- 14th: This course is for high school students with some kayaking experience. Read more about our kayak course offerings on our website!

We are thrilled to be able to share this opportunity with fellow kayak enthusiasts in our community. ☀️White Otter has some exciting news! We are thrilled to officially welcome Scott to our guiding team for the 2022 season.

☀️Scott Bruckner has a long and rich history of fishing local Idaho waters. For the past 25 years, he has been fishing the Salmon river and its tributaries. With a focus on preservation and ethical angling, he has fished Cutthroat, Bulls, Rainbows, Salmon, and Steelhead.

☀️Since the 1940’s, his family has been hunting and fishing in Stanley and the Sawtooth wilderness. Not only did the Bruckner family own a cabin and mining claim on Casino Creek, Scott’s uncle Stormy served the Stanley area as the town’s only sheriff in the 1970’s. As soon as Scott was able to walk, his grandmother introduced him to the magnificent fishing in the SNRA and he’s been hooked on this unique area ever since.

☀️Scott is a former high school teacher/coach and a certificated graduate from the highly respected Sweetwater Guide School. He holds current CPR and Wilderness First Aid certifications as well as a Swiftwater Rescue certification. Scott is a fully licensed guide and member of Trout Unlimited.

☀️Whether you are a seasoned angler looking to target a large bull trout or a novice looking to unravel the mysteries of flyfishing and receive individual instruction, Scott is able to coach you to better fishing. He looks forward to seeing you on the water and sharing his passion for the Salmon River and its diverse wildlife and history with you.

☀️The SNRA is a place fishing dreams are made of, it is Scott’s absolute privilege to assist you in creating fishing memories of your own!

Hello White Otter Guests, Fans, and Supporters! Yes, we are open for guided raft trips starting June 12! We cannot tell you how stoked we are to be back in Sunbeam, living outside, and enjoying the Sawtooth Wilderness. Nothing beats the “stay-at-home-blues” like a day on the river! To ensure the safety of our guests, employees and community, we are changing some of our operational procedures. We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions. We’re happy to work with you to meet your wishes and desires.

Here in Sunbeam we are lucky to live steps away from the river. This gives you the option to book private launches and trips. Our guides will meet and outfit you outdoors before walking to the river. We’re glad to work with you to accommodate your group’s needs. All bookings are completely refundable this year.
