Congratulations goes to McKay Colton the overall winner of today's tournament after shooting a gross score of 79. Our net winner was Lindsey Dion who shot a 67 (-5). The Shot of the Day goes to new member Steve Dubois with his magnificent shot on the long par 3 #17 which was playing over 200 yards. Steve hit it stiff to 6 feet.

Our annual two day Club Championship wrapped up yesterday out at the fabulous Westbrook Lakes course. We would like to thank everyone for attending the 2026 Club Championship. Congratulations to Club Champion Shawn Guay who shot a -1 total gross of 142 for the two day event, after shooting a 69 at the tougher Lakes course at Westbrook Village.

Our "Shot of the Day" goes too Duane Schuman, however it is probably the NON-shot of the day. Coming to the 208 yard par 3 7th hole he calmly walks up to the tee box and before teeing it up promptly asks the rest of his group where the Drop Zone was. Thus talking himself into hitting the ball into the water and allowing him to play from the afore mentioned Drop Zone. Thanks Duane for providing the group with a little humor.

What a first day of golf at the 2026 AZDGC Club Championship. All of our flights are being well contested. The Club Championship is currently tied thru round 1 with Martin Lopez and Shawn Guay currently tied at +1 and Joe Muro a close second at +2. With a few players within reach tomorrow it should be very well contested.

A flight is very bunched up with -4 leading and several players in the hunt. Our B Flight is hotly contested as our leader Jeff Phillips is at -3 followed closely by Matt Mylan and John McCormick at -2 with several others within striking distance. Finally, our C Flight is led by Mike Phillips at -3 and followed by Paul Rios Dennis Patton and Eric Dahl at -1.

Good Luck to everyone tomorrow. Those of you that a little further back anything can happen with this game that is just another four letter word. Our shot of the day is actually a group shot with our 1A group getting 3 birdies on the tough Par 5 14th hole with water in the front left coming into play on the 2nd or 3rd shot. Kyle Addington Konrad Robichaud and Tony Prencipe all scoring birdies on the hole Pat Lynch didn't get the memo about the birdies but did score a par so the group finished -3 on the hole as a group. We had two Deuces with Martin Lopez and Mark Fortin each getting one. All other results from today can be seen in golf genius.

Thank you to everyone who enjoyed a beautiful day at Eagle's Nest part of the Pebble Creek Golf Club. Congratulations goes to New Member Matt Fiedler our Low Gross winner shooting a 3 under par 69. Our Low Net winner was Martin Lopez who shot a -1 ,71 with a net of 65. Great Rounds guys. The Shot of the Day once again goes to Guy Brummet for hitting his putter from the tee box on the Par 3 8th at 158 yards. Once again he used his putter off the tee and then made his putt for a deuce. We are going to have to put in a Club Rule that putters will no longer be able to be used off the tee. Another Highlight of the round and proving that warming up is over rated. Gary Freislinger pulled a Garrick Higgo showing up late (No Penalty Strokes), and proceeded to change his shoes on the 13th Tee and four strokes later was in the hole for birdie. Finally, We want to thank Mike Phillips for hosting the club members at his house after the round today for a post tournament meal.

Thank you to everyone who braved the winds today at Trilogy at Vistancia. Congratulations goes to Drew Taylor our Low Gross winner shooting an 81 in tough conditions. Our Low Net winner was John McCormick shooting a -1 par of 71. The Shot of The Day goes to Guy Brummet for hitting his putter from the tee box on the Par 3 #2 at 117 yards. After teeing off with his putter he then proceeded to drain the 80 foot putt for his Deuce.

The Tournament of Champions for the top golfers of the 1st Half Season will be held at Talking Stick GCC on June 6. Invitations will be sent under separate cover to the golfers who qualify for this incentive round. In addition, we award bonus money to the Top 10. Our club allocates over $5000 towards the season races.
