🏁 Salute to Indy Recap 🏁
It was a tough weekend for the Zayas Motorsports crew, but one thing is for sure — our drivers never stopped fighting.
This weekend also carried a little extra sadness for our family and the racing community with the sudden passing of , Manny’s favorite driver and someone he has always looked up to in the sport. Racing felt a little heavier, but it was also a reminder of how much this sport means to the people who love it. Keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers ❤️
Night #1:
Julian battled car issues all night and unfortunately wasn’t able to finish a race. Manny and Clayton both just missed the top 4 in their heat races, sending them to the B Main. Both drivers gave it everything they had and barely missed the transfer spot by one position, each finishing 3rd.
Night #2:
Julian’s car continued to give us trouble, but the crew finally worked the bugs out in time for the main. Starting 11th, Julian was making moves and fighting his way forward until he hit a hole, bunny hopped, and popped the chain off, ending his night early once again.
Clayton had a strong night, making the A Main and doing a great job driving from 15th to 9th. Manny had to fight through the B Main for a transfer spot, starting 10th and finishing 6th.
Not the weekend we were hoping for, but racing is full of highs, lows, lessons, and late nights in the pits. We are proud of the effort, the grit, and the teamwork from everyone involved.
