Scepter Golf Club Scepter Golf Club opened in 2005 and is the newest of the three courses in Sun City Center.

Building upon his success at Club Renaissance, Florida-based golf course architect Chip Powell built the ideal Members’ course with five sets of tee decks for golfers of all skill levels. Water that is in play on most holes and smart bunkering demands strategic shots both off the tee and into greens. The green sites, many of which are raised, are definitely a highlight of the course where Powell a

sks golfers to think creatively on both long and short approach shots. The manicured roll-off collars and intriguing swales around greens demand accuracy. This is a golf course you will want to play more than once to get to know it and score well. As the course roams through the neighboring communities, there is a sweet blend of both natural habitat and wildlife with golf course homes. The fairways appear forgiving and wide, but your ball tends to run away from the center to ponds and lakes that line many of the landing areas.

The golf course at Club Renaissance will be re-opening on Thursday, October 27, following the completion of a greens renovation project and the addition of forward tees.

We hope everyone is safe and sound. Our thoughts and prayers go to our fellow Floridians in our southern counties that took a heavy hit from Hurricane Ian.

The following is an update on the property on the aftermath of Hurricane Ian:

Renaissance Golf Course: Took minimal damage with fallen trees and debris. The new greens and tees were not damaged.

Clubhouse: There was minimal damage to the clubhouse.

Fitness Center: Will be open on Friday at noon. Regular scheduled classes will resume Monday.

Spa: Closed and will reopen on Tuesday, Oct 4.

Pool: Will be open on Friday at 2 p.m.

Amici's Restaurant and Bar: Will be open Friday at 4 p.m. for dinner. Please make a reservation as we have limited staff for service. Please be patient with us. Regular hours of operation will resume on Saturday.

Front Desk: Open at 10 am. Friday

Scepter Golf Course: There are fallen trees, washed out bunkers, and a lot of debris on the course. The course will be open on Monday, October 3, for play. Please stay off the Scepter course until Monday.

Falcon driving range will be closed until further notice. The golf shop will be will be open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday to Sunday.

Sandpiper Golf Club: The course will be closed until further notice. The course took a big hit with several large fallen trees, flooding, washed out bunkers and major debris on the course. The crew will be working hard getting the course cleaned up. If you have a scheduled tee time at Sandpiper, please contact Lisa Lipnicky at [email protected].

Congratulations to our 2021 Ladies Member-Member Champions Carol Salowitz and Debbie Lester! They followed up their tremendous opening round 60 with an equally impressive second round 65. Well done ladies!

Congrats to all the flight winners as well! And thank you to everyone who participated and those of you who helped bring our awards presentation together as well. We couldn't have done it without you and we're looking forward to an even bigger and better season starting in the Fall.

And last but certainly not least, a very, very special thank you to Linda Jane Parson, our Ladies Captain - for life! Thank you so much for everything you do!

Round 1 of the 2021 Scepter Ladies Member-Member has just concluded and Debbie Lester and Carol Salowitz hold a 5-shot lead over Jan Brown and Lynn D'Antoni after posting a stellar 60!

Will they be able to hold their ground and claim the Championship or will Jan and Lynn make a comeback? Or perhaps some other contenders will step forward and claim the crown for themselves. We will find out tomorrow!
