Race week is finally here!!
CKC rounds 5/6 will take place once again at the Washington Circuit at Summit Point Motorsports Park this Saturday August 8th.

This will be our first Doubleheader format meaning we will have two separate finals run in 1 day. With the schedule allowing for 3 drop rounds it’s not too late to try and compete for a season championship.

Pre-Registration remains open on the Alpha Timing app linked below. If you’re planning on racing make sure to registered ASAP to take full advantage of the early pricing tier.

Round 5/6 format will be a little different than our previous rounds due to the condensed 1 day schedule

Just under a month until we’ll be back in action for our first ever Doubleheader event on Aug 8th at the Washington Circuit.

This one-day event will be Rounds 5 & 6 of our 10 race championship and with 3 drops available it’s not too late to make a points campaign.

Registration will open Monday July 20th, with a detailed event schedule following that.

Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Capital Karting Challenge event. Across Rounds 1 and 2, we welcomed more than 80 entries despite challenging weather throughout the weekend.

A special thank you goes out to all competitors who raced through the extremely wet conditions on Saturday. Fortunately, the weather improved on Sunday, allowing us to finally get the karts on slick tires and deliver exciting heat races and finals with dry conditions throughout the day.

Season championship standings following Rounds 1 and 2 have now been posted on both our Discord server and CKC website. Due to the short turnaround between our opening events, we have extended the membership deadline for drivers wishing to have their points from Rounds 1 and 2 count toward the championship standings. Competitors now have until Wednesday, June 10th at 11:59 PM — following Round 4 — to become a member and retain points earned during the first four rounds of the season.

Looking ahead, our next event featuring Rounds 3 and 4 will take place June 6–7. Pre-registration opens May 28th at 10:00 AM. We understand there are several scheduling conflicts that weekend, and we sincerely appreciate everyone choosing to race with us.

Finally, we would like to announce an adjustment to the remainder of the 2026 season schedule. Due to track availability conflicts on August 8–9, the Capital Karting Challenge will instead host a single race day on August 8th. To preserve our planned 10-round championship format, we will implement a double-final format to contest Rounds 5 and 6 on the same day.

The format will include one qualifying session, which will set the grids for two separate pre-finals. Each pre-final will lead into its own final race, with both finals awarding championship points. Additional details regarding the format and schedule will be released closer to the event date.

As many of you have already seen the weather forecast for this weekend is looking far from perfect. That being said we will be running as planned for Rounds 1-2.

Per our rules in the event of a wet/damp track it will be driver option tires with all classes being able to run open branded wet weather tires. Rain tires will not be scanned or marked as a result. If I driver elects to run on slick/dry weather tires they must be the compound that is specified in the spec tire classes. The set of dry tires will be scanned/marked as usual after the first session they are used if that is not qualifying.
