Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Capital Karting Challenge event. Across Rounds 1 and 2, we welcomed more than 80 entries despite challenging weather throughout the weekend.
A special thank you goes out to all competitors who raced through the extremely wet conditions on Saturday. Fortunately, the weather improved on Sunday, allowing us to finally get the karts on slick tires and deliver exciting heat races and finals with dry conditions throughout the day.
Season championship standings following Rounds 1 and 2 have now been posted on both our Discord server and CKC website. Due to the short turnaround between our opening events, we have extended the membership deadline for drivers wishing to have their points from Rounds 1 and 2 count toward the championship standings. Competitors now have until Wednesday, June 10th at 11:59 PM โ following Round 4 โ to become a member and retain points earned during the first four rounds of the season.
Looking ahead, our next event featuring Rounds 3 and 4 will take place June 6โ7. Pre-registration opens May 28th at 10:00 AM. We understand there are several scheduling conflicts that weekend, and we sincerely appreciate everyone choosing to race with us.
Finally, we would like to announce an adjustment to the remainder of the 2026 season schedule. Due to track availability conflicts on August 8โ9, the Capital Karting Challenge will instead host a single race day on August 8th. To preserve our planned 10-round championship format, we will implement a double-final format to contest Rounds 5 and 6 on the same day.
The format will include one qualifying session, which will set the grids for two separate pre-finals. Each pre-final will lead into its own final race, with both finals awarding championship points. Additional details regarding the format and schedule will be released closer to the event date.
