Looking for a fun way to introduce your little one to dance? Our Mommy & Me class is designed for young dancers who may not be old enough or ready for our preschool classes, with moms joining them for a fun and interactive class experience.

We’ll explore movement, music, basic dance steps, and playful activities that help develop coordination, balance, and motor skills while creating special memories together.

We’re offering two 8-week sessions this season:

Session 1: Wednesdays 3:30-4PM, September 9–October 28
Session 2: Wednesdays 3:30-4PM, January 13–March 3

Meet Ashley Cicero, one of our new instructors this season. 🤍

Ashley has been dancing since she was young and has spent years sharing her love of movement through teaching, choreography, and performance. With a BA in English and a minor in Dance from Samford University and an MFA in Dance from Hollins University, she brings a thoughtful and creative approach to working with young dancers.

Ashley’s favorite classes are ballet and modern. She loves the structure, shapes, and lines of ballet, while also appreciating the freedom and creative choices that modern dance offers. A fun fact about Ashley? She has traveled to Plovdiv, Bulgaria twice to study dance!

As she begins her season with Dance Moves, Ashley is most excited to join our community, meet her students, and see how they share their creativity through movement. She hopes to create a positive and encouraging space where every dancer feels comfortable exploring their potential.

Meet Francesca Lage, one of our new instructors this season. 🤍

Francesca has been dancing since the age of two and has trained in a wide range of styles, including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, and Latin jazz. Her experience includes professional performances, dance education, and continued work as a professional dancer here in Charleston.

Her favorite style is contemporary, and a fun fact about Francesca? She's also certified in Pilates! She is especially excited to meet her students and the Dance Moves team and to share her passion for dance in a positive, encouraging environment where dancers can feel comfortable, build confidence, and grow.

We're so excited to welcome Francesca to the Dance Moves family and can't wait to see the energy and passion she'll bring to the studio. 🤍

Meet Maya Alizzeo, our Education Director and James Island Manager. 🤍

Maya has been dancing since the age of three, with a background in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and contemporary. After years of training, performance, and teaching, she brings her passion for dance education and creativity to Dance Moves, where she supports curriculum development, teacher mentorship, and positive learning experiences for dancers of all ages.

For Maya, growth is at the heart of our curriculum. We don't just teach choreography—we teach skills dancers can carry into all aspects of life. Our progressive curriculum helps dancers reach meaningful milestones while building creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of dance.
