The rule is simple:
If defense gets the rebound without boxing out, offense can call them out and get the ball back 😬

Rebounding is a discipline that takes YEARS to become great at.

So now I don’t have to yell or beg players to box out. If you don’t do it, you don’t get to play offense.

It’s up to you 🫵

Steal this game to help your ball handlers identify the help beyond their own defender.

We have to learn to drive where it’s open—not just where we want to drive.

All great attackers do this 👑

I don’t care who’s guarding me. Cuz I can beat her 😈
So where is the help once I’m past her?

Hm, if I beat her to the right, I’ll get doubled.
So left it is 😈

Couple Sheana rules:
1. Player 1 must get in the paint or it’s a turnover. One caveat: if defense sags you can pull the 3.
2. Any drives toward your teammate (not the open space), it’s a turnover.
3. If you don’t get boxed out when defense gets a rebound, you can call them out and get the ball back 😬 I am always working on boxes!

So proud of this kid!

Girls Varsity Group 💪
Mondays 6:15-7:30

Today we focused on counter moves. The best scorers don’t pick up their dribble at the first wall of resistance; they keep it alive w a counter move.

This is a hard habit to break…we need reps so we can try it, mess it up (not get yelled at or benched), and have the freedom to try it again.

We drill, then we compete 💪

One thing’s for sure, these girls are better drivers and attackers to the basket 🏀💨

Camp is complete! So many dribble moves, finishes, and decision making over these 3 days. They definitely got better and saw their hard work pay off with some nice buckets today 💪

Beating defenders off the dribble using hops 🐰

DuBois Camp Day 2!

1. Teaching and drilling different hops

2. Imagining a defender is in front of us and using those moves vs cones to get layups (and seeing ourselves on film—would that move I just did actually work??)

3. Playing 1v1 where you must hop along the 3 pt line. Getting the defender to move horizontally and making reads

4. Playing 1v1 dribbling straight at the defender

The girls are definitely getting buckets and feeling more confident about using these moves!

Reagan’s grind 👷‍♀️🏀

Getting up reps on her Mosch Move + advanced lays.

When you get to the hole you gotta have the skill to score inside whatever angle you’re in.

For the high school division, it’s Korver 🏆
🥈2nd place: Douglas Kelly Conley
🥉3rd place: Nick Nick Paventy

Out of all the camps I run, I feel like this one translates the quickest into helping players better in games. This isn’t a form shooting camp (tho I do give some pointers).

This one is about learning how you react under pressure (bc literally everything we do is a competition), and then correcting the mistakes we make bc of that pressure.

🏀Some players shoot too long
🏀 Some have sloppy follow throughs
🏀Some don’t get their feet set quickly
🏀Some completely change the rhythm of their shot
🏀Some focus too hard on what other people are doing

Etc, etc, etc

The cool part is that every player left this camp knowing something new about themselves as a shooter.

And we’re all better today than we were four days ago!💙🏀

Well that’s a wrap 🥹🏆

Our travel season is over, and there’s no better way to end it than with rings 💪🎉

I couldn’t be prouder of these 6 girls.

This season we faced some major adversity when we lost our tough as nails point guard, madelyn marsaa in May. Then, when our bulldog Skylar couldn’t make the trip to Greensboro, we knew we’d have to give everything we had.

Adjusting to playing with only 6 players was difficult in our first game—but after that loss, we came together and won 5 straight 🏆

I’m gonna miss this team 🥹 They compete SO hard.

Most of all, not getting to coach Emma Elliott anymore is just too sad! 😭 I’m so grateful I got this year with her. She’s an incredible worker and teammate, and I can’t wait to watch her play in college. When she makes her final decision, that school is gonna gain an incredible competitor 🥰

Also… Korver Johnson dropped 17 points and earned Player of the Game! The youngest player on the entire floor and never afraid of the big moment 💪 Watch out world 😉
