At Bevill State Athletics, success is measured by more than wins and championships.

While we are proud of what our student-athletes accomplish in competition, our first priority will always be their success in the classroom.

Over the past academic year, our student-athletes demonstrated the same dedication, discipline, and commitment in their studies that they show every day in their sport. Their hard work has resulted in outstanding academic achievements, and we couldn't be more proud.

Thank you to our student-athletes for representing Bevill State Community College with excellence both in competition and in the classroom. We are honored to be part of your journey and look forward to all that you will accomplish in the future.

Bevill State softball reaches new heights in 2026

When Coach Chris Harris took over the Bevill State softball program, he planned on turning the Lady Bears into a conference contender.

After a record-setting 2026 season, Harris has the Lady Bears among the top teams in the ACCC's Division II. Though the team finished just short of a conference title — falling to MMI in the conference championship game in Alabaster — the team set a new standard in Harris' sixth year.

Bevill State won 40 games, including a 25-12 mark in the conference.

Individually, star player Isabella Billings won the Division II triple crown, leading the conference in hitting (.492), home runs (23) and RBIs (91). She was also second in runs scored (76). Billings was named the ACCC Division II Player of the Year.

This team didn’t just win games, they made history. From record-breaking performances to conference championships and national recognition, the 2026 season was one to remember.

🏆 40 overall wins
🏆 2nd place in ACCC Division II
🏆 ACCC Division II Player of the Year
🏆 Multiple All-Conference and All-Tournament selections
🏆 Conference leaders in batting average, home runs, stolen bases, ERA, and more

The Bears finished the season at the top of the conference in home runs, batting average, stolen bases, and ERA while showing the grit, energy, and heart that defined this team all season long.

Thank you to our players, coaches, families, and fans for an unforgettable ride. This season was special, and the story of these Bears will be remembered for a long time. 💙💚

Bevill State softball earns spot in ACCC title game

Bevill State's softball team will play for a conference title. The Lady Bears advanced to the Sunday's ACCC Division II championship game with a pair of elimination-game wins at Veterans Park in Alabaster on Saturday.

Bevill State plays MMI at noon. It will be the third matchup between the teams during the tournament.

The Lady Bears opened Saturday with a walk-off 3-2 win over Bishop State. Lily Townsend drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly, scoring Isabella Billings. Boomer Huguley had a home run for Bevill State. Presley Snell got the win giving up no earned runs with four strikeouts in seven innings.

Bevill State (40-16) followed with a dominating 15-4, five-inning win over MMI, which was previously unbeaten in the double-elimination tournament.

In the win, Isabella Billings belted two home runs and drove in four, Sara Carter was 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, Townsend was 3 for 4 with a double, a run and two RBIs, Abigail Billings was 2 for 4 with three runs and an RBI, Madelyn Fillers was 1 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs while Ana Grace Guy was 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI.

Maddie Harris went four innings and got the win, allowing no earned runs and striking out two.
