Huge thank you to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and Sheriff Guillory for the good luck treats for our showcase, Assistant Chief Trey Mancuso for helping make this possible, and Lieutenants Jeremy Dansby and Thomas Clophus for taking the time to invest in our girls this week at cheer camp.

We appreciate the important conversations about social media safety, personal safety, situational awareness, and what to do if someone grabs you unexpectedly. These lessons go far beyond cheer and will stay with our girls for years to come.

Thank you for helping prepare, protect, and encourage our team both on and off the mat! 💙📣

📣 POST 3 - GOAT YOGA 🐐💙

Alrighttttt, we saved the best for last. 💙📣

Team bonding, football chants, band dances, 5 stunt groups hitting extensions, 1 performance routine, 18 tumblers, and 2 Queens (Jump and Tumble) what a way to wrap up our first at-home(ish) camp!

Facebook only gets to see the highlights, but there was so much grit, growth, and “no time to break” this week. From family dinner Monday night to Thursday evening, these girls put in the work. They challenged themselves, pushed through frustrations, cheered each other on, and got better every single day.

As coaches, we are so incredibly proud. Out of 40+ girls who tried out for our team, these 21 athletes spent the week showing exactly why they earned their spot. Their effort, coachability, determination, and teamwork were on display from start to finish.

A huge thank you to our extended coaching staff who poured into these girls throughout the week:

✨Ayden Williams with McNeese State Co-ed Cheerleading
✨LeAnn Buff with McNeese STUNT
✨Taylor Paige with McNeese STUNT
✨Mary Clophus, McNeese Cheer Alum
✨Raelyn Hardy

A special thank you to PoPo Clo for stopping by to wish us luck before our showcase and for bringing treats from Sheriff Stitch Guillory! The girls loved the visit, stunting with you, and the self-defense lesson on how to break away if grabbed unexpectedly was definitely a crowd favorite. 💙

Thank you as well to all of our supporters, family members, and friends who came out to our showcase yesterday. Your encouragement means more than you know.

Now it’s time to enjoy a little summer (with some weekly workouts, of course 😉) before we turn our attention to football season.

The future is bright for WWL Cheer. 💙

Day 2 Highlights!!! 💙📣

We started the morning with our “Bring a Random Item From Home” challenge… and let’s just say, no one expected a chicken to come running loose through the gym. 🐔😂 There may have been 21 girls spitting out their water from laughing so hard!

The girls learned new band dances before being joined by LeAnn and members of the McNeese State University Stunt Team, who taught us new stunts and stunt sequences. We are so thankful they took the time to work with our girls!

Lunch today was sponsored by Fox’s Pizza Den. 🍕

We also held our Jump-Off and Tumble-Off competitions. The competition was tough, and now we wait to see who will take home the crowns!

Top 4 Jumpers:

* Lennon L.
* Kate G.
* Hollie R.
* Kyndal E.

Only one can be crowned Jump Queen! 👑

And out of our 18 tumblers, who will earn the title of Top Tumbler? 🤸‍♀️

We wrapped up the day with a game day makeup class and hairstyle tutorials, helping everyone get ready for cheer season.

We can’t wait to show off everything we’ve learned to our family and friends tomorrow before ending camp with some furry friends at goat yoga! 🐐💙

Day 1 Highlights 💙📣

Today’s theme: “Dress like Your Water Bottle” 💧😂

We kicked off camp with a fun game of “Guess Who?” after secretly having parents send in baby pictures of the girls. There were definitely some laughs and a few surprises!

The team spent the day stunting, tumbling, learning football chants, and polishing up a performance we can’t wait to show off. The progress they made in just one day was incredible! 🤩

Lunch was from Chick-fil-A and was a huge hit. 🍗

We were also honored to have Lt. Jeremy Dansby with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office speak to the team about social media safety, personal safety, and situational awareness. These are such important conversations to have with teens, and we appreciate him taking the time to invest in our girls.

We wrapped up the day with team bonding and painting with Jessica Broussard at Paint & Fire our WWL cheer jeans, and the creativity was on full display (some are to be continued...)! 🎨👖

Day 1 is in the books, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Passing through Sulphur, he heard the chants… and just couldn’t stay away 🐾📣💙

Now he’s got poms, a uni, and a spot in the group pic. Next up, we’re perfecting jumps and tumbling this summer 😅
