Opening morning creeps closer and closer every second! Hopefully everyone is buttoning up your preseason work, getting bows dialed in, and coming up with early season cold front excuses to get out of stuff!
We are personally chomping at the bit! Fall/winter is going to be exciting to say the least for our crew. Between hunting, tracking, and processing we will be neck deep in every aspect of the game!
As far as tracking goes one of the first questions I always get is, “ how much do you charge to track”?
Seems like every tracking team is different on the rate but for us it’s all for tips. Any tip you can afford to give is much appreciated! It takes a lot of work, time, and dedication to get these dogs ready for season not to mention vet bills, feed, wormer, flee and tick meds, fuel for the truck, tracking systems, lights and so on.
The last thing we want is someone to leave an animal in the woods that could potentially be recovered all because they couldn’t afford the rate! I didn’t get into this game to get rich I did it because I have an unbelievable respect for these animals and have been in situations where I couldn’t fine one after hitting. The thought of it keeps me up at night!
All that being said I would be lying if I said it doesn’t hurt a little after leaving your woods after sometimes hours of effort to find or even not find your animal without so much as a couple bucks for fuel. Again, not required but just put yourself in our shoes. If it’s clear your tracking is really putting in max effort for you after driving however far please treat them right!
Good luck to everyone! I hope you don’t need us but we are only a call away if you do!
