Sitting back today a little after my first hunt yesterday without our good friend Larry, reflecting on all the good times we had together. Larry Etherton - to say the least - you were an amazing man. A true and loyal husband. An incredible father, uncle, grandfather and even great grandfather. And a father to so many that were your own. You were an amazing coach through all the years and sports and you took your love of sports and became a great athletic director. You were a true hero - a firefighter. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed hunting with you so much. We could talk about anything in life with an understanding of each other.

We really don’t know why God takes those we love and care for so much away from us before “their time”. But - I know this - he only takes their body, not their soul. You will always be with us my friend. At every hunt, at every game, and every family event. Just like you were with us this weekend - keeping us safe in the wind.

Thank you lord, for putting Larry in our lives, and allowing us to experience his kindness, generosity and loving spirit.

I’m not sure who’s going to cook breakfast for us in the mornings anymore - but I know I’ll still be making you a Bloody Mary my friend.

Hunt in Peace my friend. See you in the marsh in the sky.
